Talking All california meet

Hey CALIFORNIA AZINERS... I have set this up to avoid confusion & to make things easier for us to vote.
Ron A has been nice enough to help me with the POLL THREAD details.

For those out of the loop here are the final location choices for the ALL-CALI MEET on JULY 18th, 2009

Nipomo's State Park
Fresno's Woodward Park

In the end this poll is to ensure that we put the best meet together for our fellow AZINERS. I feel we deserve it.

To keep it organized, please keep opinions & comments to a minimum unless you have facts regarding the 2 areas we are voting for.

I will try to post as much info on both areas... but the guys voting for Nipomo feel free to ad any other interests, just because I feel I am a bit biased, since I am pushing the Fresno park.

btw thanks for your effort and research in presenting the location. i know how much time, work, and dedication it must take in order to pull this all together for a lot of strangers you don't know. Thanks!

Unless Phillip can get some live pictures of Nipomo, I'll gladly drive the extra miles to Fresno.

JUST COPIED & PASTED SOME POSTS FROM THE PLANNING THREAD.

BBQ Pits, 3 different group spots.

of the 3 Group Spots, Monterey is the only one that can hold the capacity that we'll need. it has one large bbq pit like we had last year, and plenty of shade.
Monterey spot fee is $100+7=$107 for 120 people max.
http://www.slocountyparks.com/reserv...se_details.htm

you can see it in the google street maps view
LINK TO STREET VIEW

you can see the parking lot right next to it only holds about 18~ cars. so people will have to park at the other larger parking areas.

I did find some "better" pictures of Nipomo's state park.

It has 3 different group area's. Here is a picture of the Monterey group area of the Nipomo park. It's the largest out of the 3.

Here is Pine, second largest area of Nipomo park.

Here is Eucalyptus, also part of Nipomo park, and the smallest grouping area out of the 3.

Obviously Monterey looks like it should be the area we want to reserve as it states it has a 120 person capacity. We can utilize that parking lot as the main lot and I'm sure the other lots are walking distance within each other and should accommodate everyone.

Here is a rough layout on the distance of each of the lots. Not very far about the length of 2 tennis courts stacked the long side. I can tell that the parking spaces might also be pretty limited, and we may need to reserve those as well if possible.

We should totally ask them! Maybe they can sponsor the park fee's and in exchange they could hand out some brochures and fliers.

Maybe we can edit this poll to include an "indifferent" option? I'm sure some people are open to either location. I'm actually open for either location, if it comes down to it.

Im not sure exactly how many people are going to show up. Id rather have more parking space than "limited". Oh and Fresno gets a live DJ! I def vote for Fresno, it seems like the better and more accomidating place.
