Now even Subaru goes against the CLS
Subaru Puts On The Style
tyle is set to become top priority at Subaru. The company is starting work on a secret new coupé inspired by its classic SVX... and designed by the man who penned the Alfa Romeo 147.
SVX shown here:
Powered by an evolution of the six-cylinder 3.0-litre boxer engine that made its debut in the Legacy Outback, the new car is expected to provide an alluring combination of design and technology when it goes on sale in two years' time.
Delivering at least 250bhp, the newcomer will be jointly developed by Subaru and the company's tuning department, STi. The car will offer all-wheel drive as well as a five-speed automatic gearbox to complement its luxurious character. To ensure the coupé's looks appeal to European tastes, Subaru employed Greek designer Andreas Zapatinas, who has styled some of the world's most desirable cars, including the Alfa 147. Insiders suggest Subaru decided to use a European designer after it came in for criticism about the bug-eyed appearance of its Impreza WRX.

Our segment is getting over-populated soon. After we heard about the Mazda plans and the Infinity plans, now Subaru. I wonder if the CL will make it or will Acura redesign it completely.

I know about Zapatinas because he has designed many cool cars like:
Alfa Romeo 156
Fiat Barchetta
He was asked to design the Alfa Romeo GTV and Spider cars which will be the 2 cars that Alfa Romeo will use first to re-enter the USA market. Very important cars these are for Fiat and GM as a shareholder now.
He was with the creative team which designed most of the modern Fiats. Not only did he design parts of the Coupé and Bravo/Brava, but the reardoor of the Alfa Romeo 145 aswell.
Zapatinas had been working with BMW from 1994 until 1998. He now works for Alfa Romeo, and lives in Turin.

For sure. I hope Acura will wake up and bring that 3.5L 300HP IMA AWD into the CLS.

That car has been around for years. It was actually not a bad car. AWD, flat 6, but throwing coins in a toll booth was interesting with those windows.

by any chance was the designer of the Aztec get fired and go to Subaru cause(in my opinion) those windows are messed up and the body looks "outdated". I don't care if it was producing 350 hp I'd rather own a civic before drive that odd looking thing
