Type S security options - price vs effectiveness
Type S security options - price vs effectiveness
Happy Friday Acura family,
I purchased a TLX Type S about a month ago and I am becoming increasingly more concerned with the car security and possibility of it getting stolen. We have all heard the horror stories that seem to pop up endlessly. I have bought faraday bags and a small cage to store my key fobs during the evening and I will likely get a wheel/Brake pedal lock for the time being as that will at least provide a bit more security than I have currently. My main curiosity is the effectiveness and value in some of the more advanced (also expensive) anti-theft systems on the market like IGLA and ravelco and how they stack up compared to a standard kill switch, these expensive and less intrusive Anti-theft systems are quite literally 10-20x the price of a kill switch. Is it worth the money from a value or effectiveness point of view, or will a well placed kill switch, accompanied by additional security measures suffice. Thanks and stay safe!

I heard of issues in major cities and boros such as NYC, Queens, etc. are more prone to car theft. I haven't had a concern in my small suburban town. Regular locks and car anitheft alarm works for me. What city are you located in?
I am in san diego. In a nice area. 200ish car thefts a year in my suburb.. cars get stolen and brought to Mexico.
GAP insurance as long as not underwater with loan to value is not going to make me lose sleep o er theft. If somebody is eyeing it, they will get it. Ive been jacked before growing up in Paterson , NJ
