multiple keys load on ignition switch

The other day I brough my TL to shop and shop owner said since I carry many keys which makes it heavier load on the ignition switch during driver, he said it could cause the car to shut off and abrupt violent stop and advised to use fewer keys. I recently heard this could be an issue with GM cars recall but not sure if this is the case with Acura. Has there been any instance?

The 99's had ignition switch problems. In general, extra weight hanging on the key can cause the switch to wear. But haven't heard of a GM type problem with the TL's.

Currently there are about 15-20 keys I carry all the time. I purchased the chain to separate the car key from rest so that during driving rest of keys are sitting on center console.

I have read and been told the same thing.

Depending on the Acura. Some of them do have an issue with the key switch going bad. I've never read of a violent stop, when it happens the car just stops running.

I would think it would be like running out of gas, but worse since the lights, airbags, abs would be de-activated.
