TLX Type S (Canada)

When is your delivery date? I have called a few dealers and looks like units are still available…are y’all paying MSRP and how do you feel about the lack of loyalty incentives?

This was also what I've been told by my local Acura dealer as well, especially that only 250 units of 2021 TLX Type-S are available to be distributed to 51 Acura dealers in Canada, until the 2022 TLX's start rolling out the factories.

Also the dealer (I believe for all dealers too) must have one demo TLX-S in the showroom, so the actual number available for sale is 1 unit less. The only problem is that a potential customer may not get the choice of colour at all.

Mine is to be released by acura on the 28th and ready for pickup on the 30th. I have no complaints on paying msrp. I never have before in my life but this is Supply and demand at work. no one is going to pay less, some will pay more, and i would bet it will be that way until the 2023 model year. My dealer cut me deals on parts and accessories (obviously they are still pulling a profit on them as well but since they can be purchased after the sale, theres no reason to pay full price for them.) so at least there was some kind of savings. Of the 240 total cars, 119 are presold, 51 dealerships each get 1 each (of which i would bet all are spoken for) so that leaves 70 cars for the second round of deliveries for 51 dealerships. At a small dealership like mine they are only accepting orders for 2022. i would expect there are dealerships in toronro montreal vancouver etc that have 5-6 presold so the chance of smaller dealerships getting even 2 is unlikely unless they are presold. Its different in canada vs. the US. in the US there is a program that allows each dealership to order a type S to be used as a tester for customers to trump up sales (which will later be sold as a CPO, not a new vehicle). There is not enough supply to do that in Canada, you will not get a chance to test drive one unless a buyer says thats ok (and whos goona do that with a $60,000 car).
