Drove a Tesla X dual motor recently (~40 minutes), the incredible drama free acceleration is addictive and fun

It will be a cold day in hell for me to own an electric vehicle. My hands have ripped apart and built engines.

Teslas have never really done it for me. They look like one anonymous blob after another with no personality.

If Tesla was a character, it would be Ryan Reynold's Deadpool from the Wolverine movie with no mouth (sewn up...whatever).

Tesla owners have reached the pinnacle of douche-baggery. They'll find some way to complain/condescend to ICE and other EV brand owners. I don't mind the brand at all, and I personally think EVs are pretty cool (just currently not for me), but their cult followers are insufferable. Obviously, not all, but plenty are ...

I had no opinion or preconceived notions either way on the X until I drove for 40 minutes. It surprised me since I didn't think it would be so lively, the only negative for me was the steering was a little on center vague. But the battery pack being so low in the chassis makes for a low Cg so handling was surprising as well. Reminded me some of my brother's Cayenne Turbo which handled extremely well for it's weight.

Until it catches fire in your garage while being charged overnight and burns down the house.

I really do applaud their vision for an EV future. However ... the interior is just not for me. Cheap-ish materials and tablet to control everything. Nope, not for me. I'm all for hybrids until the range issue is a thing of the past with EVs. Not to mention it's really hard to get electrified vehicles right now, way too long of a wait.

If Audi releases a hybrid S5 SB in 3-5 years, I'll probably be the first in line (second year model) to get one. Maybe, if they don't screw up the interior.

In order to get a nicer EV interior you’re going to have to spend over 100k. The interior is where they cost cut. Unless you get an Audi Etron GT or Porsche Taycan.
