You were spot on, I came in and told them exactly what I wanted for the car and my trade in and they gave it to me with no fuss. They gave me $4150 off the total price of the car and 2k more for my trade in than I thought was fair. They also waived VIT and half the doc fees. They were also very desperate to move this car since it was at the end of the month and it had been sitting there for a while.

That's what they get asking for ADM early on. Lot spaces are costing them money and more profitable new inventory are competing for the same spaces.
Doubtful that Acura is giving them a holdback program to subsidize the losses on these Type S cars.

100% this. The big slap in the face is they had a Teggy TS sitting in their showroom for 72k before TTL. I get that there’s some novelty there right now but I’m betting the same thing will happen to the Integra in three years.

It's interesting to see you say that. A modern RLX might have kept me in the Honda/ Acura family when I decided to move on from my beloved '07 TL Type S. As I previously related here, I looked forward with happy anticipation when Acura finally announced a new Type-S, but was disappointed for several reasons. An RLX Type-S with all the bells and whistles the TLX-S lacked would likely have meant I kept my previously unblemished record of never visiting a BMW dealer.

I love the Type S. Picked it up with 9 miles yesterday. But not sure how it could have gotten caked on the dirt under the hood just sitting on the lot. Seems extreme. Anyone have an theory?--the dealer doesn't.

Caked on dirt

Check behind the brake and gas pedals. Also check the trunk underneath the battery and look for dirt in those areas. That car might’ve been in a flood.

Possibly encountered a dust storm or heavy rainfall while in route to your dealer? A lot of crazy weather happening this summer around the country. I'm pretty confident my dealer would have cleaned this up prior to delivery. I'd ask in a friendly way why your dealer didn't take care of this in the PDI process.

I highly doubt Acura and any reputable Acura dealer would sell you a flood car. You'd have a hell of a lawsuit if they had done so.

Well any reputable dealer shouldn’t have delivered a vehicle like that to its customer, yet this dealer did. Not too reputable in my view.

I agree that the PDI was not up to snuff here. But it's an entirely different level to go from service negligence to intentionally selling a flood vehicle. The first instance is just bad dealership practice; the latter is fraud, possibly rising to the level of criminal conduct.

This thread has been an interested read with regards to pricing. I had only half seriously been looking at a new Type-S in the past, but the markups I was seeing was insane in my area (SE PA), so it never went anywhere with me since I refuse to pay more than MSRP. Then I saw the 24 redesign and started actively looking again, and stumbled across a 24 in Apex Blue Pearl about an hour and a half away from me. It has a number of dealer options/accessories, and no markup. Called them immediately and was told that they'd let it go for the sticker price, so no charges for the accessories. Had it in my possession a few hours later. Unfortunately, there were no rebates or deals available to me, but I was fine with MSRP.

They had a number of Integra Type-S's on the lot, and I was told that they're having trouble offloading them because they're priced so closely to the TLX Type-S, and people are simply holding out for those to come into stock. I'm not surprised. If Acura lowered them another $5-6k, they'd fly out the door.

That sounds like my experience.In SoCal, we have about 8-10 dealers within about 100 miles of me. Two would sell at MSRP but didn't have any stock. One dealer said I could have whatever came in next, and the other let me order an Apex Blue Peal (which, by the way, is a completely different color than my S2000 Apex Blue Pearl). After the purchase, we got some dealer-installed bodywork accessories. What accessories did you get?

Mine came with:
  • Type-S badged all-season weather mats
  • Door edge film
  • Rear bumper appliqué
  • Illuminated Type-S door sill trim

Nothing crazy, but I’m a fan of them all. Wasn’t sure if I’d want all season floor mats full time, but taking my kid to soccer on day 2 of ownership convinced me otherwise, lol.

Hmmmn...I didn't think TLX folk shopped the Integra or vise versa...I know I never looked twice at the TLX type S...The ITS is a perfect daily driver for me....
