Got really lucky last night.... near miss accident

https://youtu.be/FjfZQXSJTeM?si=I7mjcttb4HDn8KFb

I was driving down the highway in the left lane going with the flow of traffic when I get cut off by a newer black BMW M3 (that was weaving traffic), he then cuts to the middle lane and proceeds to cut off the SUV infront of me.... then brake checks the SUV infront of me. This causes the SUV to panic brake to avoid a collision and then I have to panic stop however my ABS is going crazy and I can not slow down in time so I swerved to the left and hit a snow bank... I have no idea how my car escaped without a scratch on it. However I avoided the accident and now I am just stuck with the feeling that there is now justice for the BMWs drivers reckless driving activity as I tried to report it with the State Police and they told me they were not going to do anything even after I stated that my dash cam captured the whole thing. I can make out a plate number on the video and I ran a search and it confirms the the BMW in question.

I just don't understand the logic.... I've been guilty of weaving traffic when I'm in a rush, but why would you throw in a brake check when your doing it... seems counter productive

Don't try to rationalize stupid behavior, you'll just set your self for heartache/frustration/angst for nothing..

I was literally about to say this, and in the world of "lane cutting" brake checking after every lane switch is called "hesitation" in other words he don't really got the wheel

But above all else thats so dangerous to do in moderate-heavy traffic. I only ever do that in light traffic and only once or twice. Gosh got me missing my Type-S just alittle bit now lol

I swear it's worse after the installation of that peanut rotary thing... there was an understanding amongst worcester drivers on how to navigate the chaos of Kelley Square, it seems like no one in Massachusetts understands how to navigate a rotary.

I happy you were able to avoid an accident. I wasn’t so lucky. Got T-Boned by a Lincoln Navigator Thursday. One less Type-S on the road. Glad these cars were well built. And that he missed the driver door.

Probably a state where pols dont consider personal property to be a priority. Stuff like that trickles down to the rank and file.

Thank you. Very sore, and bruising, but nothing more at this point. Happy to be breathing and that it was the rear door that was hit, not mine. The car managed the impact very well with regards to me. But it looks like it sacrificed itself in the process.

Now I just need to find a replacement. It was a 2022 with only 20,000 miles and was in perfect condition.
