I'm guessing if it not a full time awd, then the power indicator is not true then? On a flat dry surface, as soon as I let go of the brake, I can see all 4 wheels has power to it. Either it false reading or the indicator meant something else lol.
Full time AWD simply means that there is never a situation when the secondary axle gets zero power (unless it's due to one of the axles getting zero traction). The fact that there exists a common scenario when the rear axle gets no power (in this case, at steady state cruising) means that it is infact not full time AWD and effectively slip-and-grip (albeit it does use steering and yaw sensors to proactively shift power around).

As I understand it, full time AWD is like what you get in a Subaru. All 4 wheels are "locked" together, so they all spin at the same time. There is no moment where one wheel would get power and another won't.

This is not true in the SH-AWD system. SH-AWD will distribute the power to each wheel depending on many conditions, like wheel spin, direction of the car, angle of the steering wheel, etc..

What you describe sounds similar to what's happening to this Type S owner:

FWIW, I got rid of my MY21 TLX A-SPEC SHAWD because it couldn't exit a parking lot or sharp angle highway entrance w/o me feeling like I was going to be hit by oncoming traffic!

driver issue lol but yeah 21+ turn radius is a fucking joke, even worse than my 2007 tls which already was crazy bad, took em from 2007 to 2021 to downgrade in this matter lmao

I understand the power distribution part, but as far as the definition of awd, I am thinking of all 4 wheels spinning all the time lol. As more responding I'm getting, thank you all btw, it seems to be acura's sh awd isn't the same as other brands awd. Maybe this explained why the 1st gen tlx awd seems better than 2nd gen ( at least to me, especially I felt too much body roll on the 2nd gen?).

I got the car back yesterday from a different dealer, and he said he did lifted the car up and had it in drive, and indeed all 4 wheels are spinning. Now if that's really true or not, I don't know. He did said in the beginning that it would not, that's why I am not too certain on this test.
my other concern was the strange noise, sounded like bearing going bad at low rpm, slow acceleration. Of course they didnt hear it but I was able to duplicate it as soon as I got out of the lot.

i finally got a replied back from acura client rep. They did not answer my question, or even close to what I asked lol.
I'm going to give up on this and hope it is all on my head. If anything do go wrong, I sure hope I am still under warranty.

Thank you all again

I got out of a lease a year early because I wasn't comfortable w/the car. I suggest you do a deep dive into the pros and cons of sticking w/something you're not comfortable with (don't wait until it's too late)!

I did thought about it but I do like the 2nd gen tlx body lol. I will if I have to I guess.

But Honda called me this morning. I think I spoke to a general helpdesk person cause the rep doesnt seem to know much about the car. I explained again what happened, and then the rep said the manual book said my car is indeed awd. I tried to explained why I made a inquiry about my case regarding full time and part time awd, but that seems to be useless to the rep 😕. I was told that I have 2 options, one is they'll file a complaint against the dealer and see where that will take me, or two, go back to the dealer and deal with them, escalate it to service manager and then general manager if needed.
