Can't tell properly but the muffler tips remind me of the MMC 4G TL.

Nice! This is a complete redesign right? I'm anxious to see what it looks like underneath.

You'd have to join a TLX facebook group if you're not in already.

This is what I've been waiting for. I wanted a better view of the tail lights for the re-design. This car is going to look amazing.. It has the exact tail lights as the Type S concept.

I agree. The proportions seem to look amazing as well. He said it looked like a beast on the road in even camo. He had a good look at the front and said the headlights are narrow and sleek.

Acura connected posted a video on their Instagram story of the TLX driving down the highway. ( I guess it might be the same video, but the link that was posted for Facebook is broken.)

Imagine how it looks with a spoiler! Also if you guys haven't noticed yet, the design seems to be exactly like how the leaked images were from the RDX infotainment leak. The rear door handles go up with the contour just like how the one leak showed.

Exactly! Those leaked images are the new TLX and MDX. No matter what Acura says, we already know how the new TLX and MDX will look like

The good news is that both look great.

Acura is on the schedule for the LA Auto Show on November 20th for 40 minutes. I'm thinking this is the TLX debut. They normally don't make their official announcement until 2 weeks before the reveal sometimes.

Great news!

But it could be the 2021 MDX. Acura has two vehicles lined up for fully redesign. But let's hope it's the TLX.

I actually hope it’s the MDX. The lease on my 17 is up in 13 months.

For Acura's sake I hope it's the MDX. The profit margin and popularity of crossovers is much higher, and those profits are what enables automakers to effectively subsidize niche models (i.e. a TLX Type-S).

The camo TLX on the pictures above looks like it's already wearing production skin. Have we even seen anything this close with the MDX? I remember seeing pictures of a MDX mule with the the quad exhaust tips but it looked nowhere near production ready.

It's not the MDX. It's already been said the TLX comes out first then the MDX per the Car and Driver article. Plus we haven't even seen the MDX with the least amount of camo as we have with the TLX.

You'll still be ok. The MDX should be out by next summer.

The reality is that I really don’t want a first year model, where the ‘bugs’ and ‘kinks’ haven’t been quite worked out yet. Not to mention that it likely won’t start to lease competitively until it’s second year. I may need to extend my lease a bit until year two hits stores.

I was considering doing the same for my 2018 (extending the lease). What's that entail usually? Just telling Acura I want to go for another year?

Correct. For one reason or another I considered doing that when I had my 16 TLX, with AFS indicating that I just needed to let them know once I drew closer to the termination date.

Financially it doesn’t make sense for Acura to get MDX first. MDX is still doing well considering it’s 6 years old. TLX needs an urgent release lol

That's a good point - but part of the reason the TLX isn't selling well is due to the overall climate of sedans not being in demand. A refresh will help - certainly with the car enthusiasts - but may not boost sales all that much in reality. Meanwhile an updated MDX (assuming they get it right) would likely kill it in today's market.

The great thing about the MDX and TLX releases is that they are so close together, it's really not going to matter that much. We are probably talking 3 months apart when they both go on sale. The MDX will be shown at the NY Auto Show in April at the latest.

Actually they have been working out the bugs through the new RDX and ILX releases. If you notice they usually have been updating those cars before their flagship vehicles. They sorted out all bugs for the infotainment system in the RDX and now will roll out the improved versions for the new TLX. They have spent a long time developing the TLX. So much to the point that they had time to design a Type S concept vehicle and make the TLX based on that model! No doubt that this car will be solid from the get-go.

Infotainment is one thing, a brand new 6cylinder turbo charged engine paired with a relatively new transmission is a whole different beast. With rumors on this site of possible new electric turbo's from Garrett(pure speculations), only time will work the bugs out. I just shudder at the thought of a repeat with the 2001 CL's glass transmissions which at the time was newly paired to a V6 I believe.

I am still running by 2004, which is first generation 3G and have had no problems. Maybe just lucky.

Definitely the MDX will attract more buyers than the TLX. The sedan market isn’t just there. But TLX is selling all time low. So the refresh should help

Agreed! At this point it’s a matter of spring and or summer. 2020 is going to be a big year.

I still see a lot of TLX's down here. It should fare well, I'd think.

Doesn't it make more sense just to buy the car out of the lease at completion of the lease if someone is going to keep it a year beyond the end of the lease? I can understand paying extra to extend for 4-6 months, but does anyone extend beyond that? At that point, I'd want to own the car instead of just continuing to rent. I'm just asking because I haven't done an extension, either, and would have to do so if the Type S is not available at the time of my lease term in June 2020.

Yeah all of the above. Caught in a time warp. 440 goes back in June next generation G4 will be about 6 months out from that point. Originally expected as a 2020 model. Was looking to move to a C8 but they already are closing the order books on the 2020 models & are taking reservations for 2021. C8 still at MSRP from the big dealers. Small dealers are all playing ADM game.

So both plan A & B are scrapped. Not sure which way I will jump for plan C which might be just keep the 440.

Good question, I'd have to look at the residual which I think is probably going to be high. I'd be more worried about buying it and trying to then turn it around for a trade in a few months later and getting an even worse trade in value. Doubt I'd get much selling private party. I've never extended a lease either. Just trying to understand options. I'm even debating just giving it back and waiting for the Type S to come out. I could do without a car for a few months.

When you extend your lease the buyout drops down as well so it's a win win..... Also, the depreciation is not as bad anymore so you are actually in a good position to sit and wait on that good deal.
