Suspension going bad?

Ok. I’m sure there’s already a thread somewhere about this issue I’m having but here it goes. I recently started hearing popping and clunking noises in my front driver side. It happens during startup when I turn my steering wheel and also when I driving on the road; slightly uneven roads or bumps will cause the noise. Is this common for a 4 year old car with just a little over 60k miles. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

No, it's not common, and it's unfortunate that it's out of warranty. Hopefully it's just a bushing that needs some extra grease and not a strut that's gone bad or a leaky CV joint.

Being mechanically challenge, I guess I need to bring it to a shop to have look at. Possibly the dealership. Since you mention out of warranty, I think I did purchase extended warranty when I first got the car. Hopefully that will cover it if anything major. Thanks for the input.

Stand next to your car and lean on the fender area over the front wheel and press down with your body weight. Get the strut to compress and then quickly remove your weight and see if the car makes a noise or if the car 'bounces' a bit. If you hear the noise it is either a strut or a bushing.

I once was convinced my right front strut had gone bad. Everytime I turned a certain way I'd hear a clunking sound coming from the right front. It was pissing me off because the car was too young for that. This went on for weeks and I was about to bring it into the dealership to take a look. Then one day I was in my glove box to get something and I realized I had a flashlight in there that was rolling over and hitting a metal object that was in the glove box every time I went around a sharp curve. Doh! Problem solved!
