Suspension problem

Over the past few weeks, i've replaced the drivers side axle, both out tie rod ends/ball joins, both upper control arms, and the drive inner tie rod.

I'm getting a small-medium vibration when I accelerate from 40-60ish. It also clunks when going over imperfections in the road. More when the suspension is deflecting down (pot hole) but rarely when the suspension in compressed (speed bump).

I'm thinking the new axle I go could be bad, but what else should i check?

stock or aftermarket suspension? I recently had a noise over bumps and found the dampers had gone bad in my coils, the strut wouldn't rebound like it should and it was producing a knock over small imperfections on the road, more at low speeds than high speed. I got them replaced and it drives smooth and no more clunking over bumps. Also, on that note, check the rubber isolators at the top of your coil/shock and look for snug fitment, no rips or tears, etc. sometimes those need to be replaced and can cause knocking if damaged at all.

the vibration while accelerating 40-60...no clue on that. My thought would be it is unrelated to the above and maybe an issue of alignment, wheel balancing or your motor mounts may need to be replaced, a common issue on this car.

good luck. I'm sure others have some good ideas to offer.

Very interested in the outcome here - I'm experiencing very similar issues myself. My guess is it in fact your dampers - I changed out my back ones last weekend, and it helped a bit, but my old ones were completely shot. I would imagine the front ones are in a similar shape. This weekend I plan on doing upper control arms, ball joints, sway bar end links, LCA Bushings, Struts and strut mount bushings, and I'll report back

Turn out the steering rack is SHOT. It's leaking badly and one of the rods is bouncing around. The fluid I took out was black and was burnt. I put in new fluid and a conditioner. I am replacing the rack next weekend.

As of right now the vibration and knocking isn;t gone but much better. To test turn the car off, and rock the wheel left and right see if you hear any noise.

I've also bitten the bullet and am going to buy twin basis coil overs.
