Reattaching Mirror in a 2016 TLX

Does anyone have any idea how to reattach the rearview mirror? Mine has come apart in the area where it appears it would just snap back into place (it was knocked apart by a flying dog who was otherwise unhurt with someone pulled out in front of us), but I cannot figure out how it snaps back into place, if that is the case. I can't find a single thing through Google as for reattaching the rearview mirror. Thanks.

Did you find out how to do this? Mine just got pulled off and though everything seems intact and not broken, I can't for the life of me snap the mirror back to the little hexagonal metal piece, I'm scarred I'll break something.

Yes, I just angled the mirror part into the right direction and pushed it hard into the part it attaches too. I had to make sure it all lined up. It worked, everything went back into place, including the casing. I'm not sure I could pull it off again, but it worked that time.

Thanks Jim. Mine is the 2018 TLX TECH so I am not sure the attachment is the same, though looking at the parts at Acura/Honda sites they look very similar to me.

I tried all angles and I can mathematically ser how it would get back into place, but I am either not strong enough or there is a trick or even a tool to facilitate the process. Sigh..

No, mine was part of a unit that includes the camera from the road view and all that. It didn't slide in and out. It was more like a socket that went back in place. You position it and turn, and it goes back into place. The dealer offered to put it back in place for me, but I figured it out.

I just positioned it where it matched up and turned clockwise, I believe. Will your dealer put it back in place for you? Unless the unit is broken, it should just line up and turn into a locked position.

For future reference, I took my car to the closest dealership and they put it back for me for free, and washed my car as a bonus. Not bad.
