Direct Injection on the TLX is pretty loud and can be confused for valve tap! With that said, you can perform a valve adjustment if needed. The oil on the 2 plugs, was it soaking or light covering? Are you low on engine oil at all? The PCV if faulty can cause abnormally high crankcase pressure causing all sorts of issues/noise so def. look at that.

I swear my TLX V6 had a lifter tick from the day I bought it, but everyone on this forum and my dealer all said it was normal. The tapping is definitely more pronounced on the TLX V6 than any other car I've ever heard idling. I would call it abnormal.

As far as the oil on the plugs - which cylinders? Honda lost a VCM class action lawsuit for the VCM2 system rings leaking oil, fouling plugs and causing misfires. on deactivated cylinders. I think 5 and 6. The TLX V6 has VCM3, which supposedly avoids this problem, but I'm skeptical. Did you ever throw a misfire code?
