Key fob sometimes doesn’t work

My 2017 key fob sometimes doesn’t work for a few min to open doors etc, and no lights on the fob. Starts car fine in the car so I don’t think it is the battery. Then then starts working fine. Typically happens lately when I haven’t been driving much. Once it starts working, then ok.

Are you using the fob manually to open doors, or are you using the hand near the handle with your key in the pocket?

I've noticed that if my phone is very close to the fob or door handle it can cause the unlock to not work or to be slow.

It is just the key fob. The lights on the fob don’t work and it won’t unlock. Then after a few min of trying it starts working and seems no problem. This has happened a few times lately.

I would suspect that the battery in the key fob is low. I had to replace the battery in my fob last Sept. in my 2017 tlx Tech. The car did give me a warning that it was low. Just follow the directions in the manual. Be careful as the buttons can get mis-aligned if it does not go back together right, or have the dealer do it. You could also test with your other key fob to see if that works.

The 2nd keyfob wasn't working either, so that was confusing. I changed the battery on that one, and now 2nd one works.
On the first one, after a bit then it works fine. I reseated battery, as maybe some oxidation etc, so we'll see how that goes, and then I'll change battery if still a problem.
Also, in the past when battery was low it would say so on the car display, so that wasn't adding up either.

Looks like it was the battery after all. Strange as after a few min each time it would work.
Anyway, thanks for all the feedback!
