Hi! Noticed some scuff marks and slight leather peeling on drivers seat side panel towards the door. Car is 2017 base TLX. Bought it a month ago as CPO. I cant imagine we missed this when we were buying the car. Nor can I recall anything I did in the last 1 month of driving to cause this either. Does look like something scraped against the seat.
Have already contacted the dealer and they have a vendor who can fix this at a charge. Dealer is 100 miles away, so not an easy option. The car also came with something called Zurich Shield, which is some kind of exterior and interior protection applied to the car. That would be another option to pursue.
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of leather peeling/damage? Any recommendations?
FWIW, this material does seem somewhat fragile and easy to damage.
Thanks!
Not surprised. Leather on 15-17 is apsolute CRAP. HAd
tears and rips in mine as well after only two years. Apsolutely worst for Acura. 3G and 4G leather was next level. They improved the quality on 18 & 19. That's why I went with alcantara seats. No issues at all so far
2015 with almost 52k miles on mine and my seats are in almost new condition. Minus the crease marks from where I sit, but the bolsters don't have much wear at all.

lol. The 3G's leather would get ridiculed for the creases in it. There are several complaints in the 3G forum about the "poor quality" of the 3G leather.
My 2015 seats look as new as can be expected. Normal butt prints but no damage. I have no complaints. Maybe the previous owner had some sort of clothing that rubbed that when he got in/out and it was repaired with some sort of surface treatment.?
