Thumbs down BSI Stopped Working

Well, 18 days after purchase, I have my first real issue. The BSI stopped working. As if that's not annoying enough, both of the BSI warning lights won't stop flashing, I guess informing me that there is an issue with the BSI. I thought that is what the warning light on the dash is for. I even turned the BSI off on the settings, but still get the flashing lights. Pretty annoying when driving. And since the BSI isn't working, the cross traffic monitoring doesn't work either (uses the same technology I assume).

Will be taking the car in this weekend. Ugh...

Bummer. Especially the flashing part.

After 2 weeks I had a couple of indicators light up on the dashboard. It said I had an emissions failure and electric brake failure. Dealer reset the indicators and no issue was found. No issue since. I will have to be on the lookout for this one.

Good we have a warranty.

"Blind Spot Information" (BSI) system.

Some 4G TL sedans also have it.

Spool Valve Failure - 2013 Accord Touring

Meh, sorry to hear that Dan. Even with Acura's great reliability, we're statistically bound to find "something". JD Powers rates Acura at #4 with 109 problems/100 vehicles.

My 2013 Accord Touring had a major one. Spool valve rupture (controls cam follower from low/high valves in VTEC system!). Definitely worrisome. Engine oil all over the place, about 2 quarts left in the car at the conclusion.

They'll get to the bottom of it! Here was my warning light from that night! Reminded me of the bridge of the Enterprise

Bummer, I get the same indication but they cannot find the issue. First at 2 weeks of ownership and again at 4 weeks. I get Emissions failure and Electric Parking Brake Failure. They reset the indicator and it worked fine for two weeks. Good thing is I get a free car wash every two weeks.

Emission System Problem

Electric Parking brake problem.

Usual story...if they can't make it right at 3 tries of a repair, and all they do is reset the indicator, make the dealership take the car back. That's what I'd do...it's unacceptable in a new car and it seems like all they're doing is resetting indicators/ lights without really fixing anything.

Sounds like a good plan.

Thanks.

I just remembered... I tinted the windows and installed the spare tire kit. Guess I will keep the car for now.

Can we send you the bill for time spent beta testing? LOL I'm at 3,300K now.

I pity the beta testers AFTER these cars go out of warranty. $$$ Electrical $$$

Oh, that happened when I had 2700 miles on the Honda (about a year ago). It's been traded in for the TLX V6 Advance, hehe.

Got my car back last night. They had to replace the radar on the back left side. This fixed both the BSI and cross traffic monitoring. The radar is located behind the side bumpers. They only had to put the car on a lift to replace it. I was worried that they might have to take off a fender or a bunch of panels from the trunk.
