TLX 4cyl Intake Options

Just wanted to let you all know that Takeda's short ram intake for the 13-15 Accord 4cyl also fits into the TLX with no customization. It also sounds pretty good too.

How has it affected your MPG? I want it but I do a lot of highway driving and I like my 36-37mpg I'm getting right now, thanks.

No effect on the MPG as long as you drive normally.

At 45-55 mph, I've gotten as high as 40.5 mpg.

At 60, my mpg was 38-39.

At 70, 35-37.

Very nice! And good to know! I think I'll be moving forward with this one. Seems like a good price tag also.

I installed it on my '13 Accord. Zero change in mileage, it just sounds better and possibly more mid-range torque.

Yes, I mounted it myself. Took less than an hour. HP isn't much but it sounded great.

Intake and Throttle Body Spacer installed for V4.

Installed a Intake and Throttle Body Spacer in the TLX last week and let me tell you, WOW. Bolts straight up and took about 30 mins, no modifications. This thing howls and you can feel a difference, like a whole new car. Plugs:

throttle body spacers do not add HP as any air tuning is done in the intake manifold and NOT BEFORE IT!

the theory is that Throttle body spacers add air volume...however that cannot happen because the throttle body DICTATES how much air flows in

a better mod would be the intake manifold spacer as that does add volume

I installed the Takeda and it was easy to put in. The sound is better and the gas milage is the same.

I went a bit further and installed a full Injen Cold Air from the 2013 V6 Accord.. Required bending of one piece (the mount for the top bolt to brace the intake itself). The sound difference is great but the biggest difference is the pull off the line.. If anyone is interested I can snap pics of it in the car.
