Upgrades to base stereo
No one here has mentioned adding an amp as yet. I would expect that one could tap the output from the head unit to a DSP (I have an JBL MS-8 NIB I would sell) then to an amp feeding upgraded speakers.
It's brand new. I have an entire setup that I was going to swap out/upgrade the system in the Accord I had.. before I got the offer on it I couldn't refuse. I'd take $400 for the MS-8.. feel free to PM about this
Thanks. I'll PM you if I can figure all of this out. The lack of info is troubling.
Adding an amp and some speakers is some pretty basic stuff. I don't anticipate that the TLX would be much different from the average car. A lot of the time, one could greatly improve the sound quality simply by adding an amplifier to the stock speakers.
Yeah I've done it on a couple of other cars, but since this one is brand new and I can't even find a wiring diagram, I'm a little nervous. I have a JL XD 400. I'd love to use that to power the fronts and the sub and see what the difference is.

^^ The difference would be massive. If you can find the factory amp, then you can test for all the speakers. You wouldn't need a diagram. I don't suggest going about it that way though unless you're comfortable.
The amp in these cars take care of the crossover work. All of the speakers are wired directly to the amp, at least they were in the 3G and I expect the same will be true in the TLX.
