TLX bluetooth audio issue

Hi everyone,

I have a '15 TLX V6 Advance. I have had the car since about when they were released and have used bluetooth audio to play music from my Android phone since I got the car.

All of a sudden when I got in the car today, the music wasn't playing in all of the speakers. It is only on the right side. If I turn the balance all the way to the left, the only place I hear the music is in the sub that is in the trunk.

I also have an iPhone, so I tried to play music from that via bluetooth and I had the same problem.

It plays fine via a wired connection into the AUX port and if I listen to FM radio. So it seems specifically related to bluetooth audio and it would seem like it is a problem with the Acura since both my android phone and iPhone have the same issue.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks

Sounds like the connection from the Bluetooth module to the stereo is either loose or busted.

It sounds like a trip to the dealer.. hopefully it's just a loose connection or something easy to fix.

Yeah figuring this is a reason to go to the dealer. Have to anyway, some jerk stole the Acura emblem off the back.

So after letting the car sit overnight, the problem went away by itself. Will have to see if it comes back again.

Try resetting the bluetooth connection the next time it happens (hopefully it won't.)

I recently got a TLX SH-AWD ADV and just had the same issue also on Android. Bluetooth was working fine, stopped the car and went into the store for a few minutes. Upon starting the car, my phone automatically connected and started playing audio but only out of the right side. All other sources were fine.

Quickly shutting down the car and restarting didn't work. Letting the car sit for a couple minutes, then starting again did get it working. I'm guessing it takes a short period until the bluetooth module completely loses power, then it'll reset itself next start.

Interesting issue. I am curious to learn the solution.

I haven't seen this with my I4 (12,000+ miles) and I use Bluetooth a lot.

So i have a similar issue...
My bluetooth connection is fine. My speakers are fine all around. But when i play audio via bluetooth, i have to turn the volume all the way up to level 20+ to hear the music. The volume on my galaxy s4 is turned all the way up as well.
On FM/AM/XM/Pandora sources, my volume between 6-10 i can hear perfectly fine.

Any clue to what the issue may be?

Kind of strange, because my BlackBerry Q10,BT/Audio, plays great, at the same volume level, as HDD, CD, etc. The only slightly higher Dynamic Range, comes from my IPod

I have the Galaxy S4 with Lollipop. I haven't seen this issue. It sounds like your phone volume for BT does not go high enough. Can you try the exact same test on another BT device such as an external speaker.

I did find one annoyance with Lollipop. When you first turn on your phone and try to use the rocker to increase the volume, it will only go so high. If you look at the screen you have to click OK to exceed the enforced limits. That is my only issue.

Pandora uses BT as well. Using an external BT speaker would be a good test.

I wish I had a better answer.

In your Android volume settings, there is a setting for ringer volume/ media volume/ etc..

Go into settings and make sure that your MEDIA volume is turned up

that should fix it

Tlxsteve & thoiboi: thanks, I'll give it a shot later after work. However, my media volume on the phone was turned all the way up when i noticed the issue. But I'll keep playing around with the infotainment system/phone to see what happens.

Hmm...false alarm on my end. I guess sometimes things just don't play nice the first few times. I decided to take my phone battery out, back in...then BOOM bluetooth worked fine. (Very odd to say the least.)
I guess next time I'll do more before posting!
