Sound from Pandora is muffled
Merry Christmas everyone,
I have a new TLX 2.4 w/tech, whenever I try playing music through pandora the sound is low and muffled. It doesnt matter even if I turn up the volume it barely makes a dent. The radio FM,AM and XM sound perfect. I uninstalled my phone (iphone 6) and reinstalled it also turned the phone off and on to no avail. Does anyone else have a problem with pandora streaming to their car? Of course after the holidays I can bring it back to the dealer to have it checked out.

I have limited expectations of any streaming source. A quick search yielded this:
Everything An Audiophile Needs to Know About Pandora
It would seem that 64Kb is the highest, they could definitely be lower than that during peak times. This also ignores the possibility that your mobile carrier is cutting your bandwidth. I think you might try the USB connection as noted by Sidestep, but I'd limit my expectations for audiophile quality on that source.
Now let's talk audio quality. For users of the free service, Pandora streams AAC+ files in stereo (no multi-channel) at a quality level of 64 kilobits per second via the Web browser. For Pandora One subscribers, it moves up to 192 kbps through the browser/desktop app. In-product apps like those found in a Roku box, Blu-ray player, or A/V receiver stream at 128 kbps. With mobile devices, the quality depends on the device and network, but it is never higher than 64 kbps.

I'm not expecting ground breaking sound or anything but I can barely hear pandora in the car, I have to put the volume on 20 or higher to even hear it. I haven't tried pandora via the usb cable but I will and let you know. I also played pandora via Bluetooth audio source and no difference. I'll give iTunes a try tomorrow. I also plan do delete pandora from my phone and download it again, though I don't think it will make a difference.

When streaming Pandora from my Galaxy S3, sound for the first 45 seconds or so can be very low in volume. Then it becomes much louder. I need to be careful not to turn the volume up on the TLX too high or it scares the heck out of me when it finally goes to normal volume.

I just came back from my car and what (mondster & stew4HD) said worked. The volume on my phone was set on low, I put it on the highest setting and low and behold Pandora came alive . I would of though the phone and car volumes worked independently of one another I guess not, thanks everyone.

I haven't had any issue with Pandora and my Galaxy S4 over Bluetooth. I find the sound comparable to the other audio sources. I also like that Pandora automatically connects when I select Pandora on the console. Once I had Bluetooth paired to my phone, Pandora was fine from the start.
