A Few Questions For New TLX Owners

First, congrats on your new car purchase! Secondly, I have some questions about some of the TLX features. Now that YouTube videos seem to be popping up almost daily featuring the TLX, I've noticed a few things I want to ask about since the videos don't explain them. On the rearview camera, it appears that the guidelines now move with the steering, it that correct? Also regarding the rearview camera, there appears to be some sort of icon at the bottom of the screen that appears to say "cross traffic", but I'm not sure. If so, how clearly does the camera show the cross traffic situation? On the overhead console there is a button that says "Acura-Link" and another that says "SOS. I'm assuming these functions connect to one's Smart Phone, hopefully better that the Acura Link function on the 4G, what do these buttons actually do? Lastly, on the 4G model, using voice command, you had to say "information", then say "traffic incidents" or "weather info". Do you still have to say the word, information, before getting the specific information you are seeking? Thanks.

1) Yes. The rear view camera now shows trajectories.
2) Cross traffic sensor actually shows you the direction in which objects in the rear are traveling. For example direction of oncoming cars.
3) AcuraLink is like On-star, Lexus Enform. It will be a paid service in which you can speak to a concierge to get directions, reservations, etc.

There are like 700 new commands apparently, I'm still learning myself.

For the buttons on the top console question, the Link Button is for calling road side assistance and for the paid services. ASSIST is a button covered by a clear cover to prevent accidental activation. It calls a 911 type service.

Just picked up my TLX Tech today and noticed a green light next to these buttons on the overhead console. Anyone know what it means?

Anyone else have an issue with the keyless entry? I noticed that the range isn't as great as my '12 TL. Sometimes if the key fob is in my pants pocket I have to almost stand up against the handle to get it to open. Same with the trunk.

I find that the TLX range is about the same as my wife's 2014 MDX. I just walk up to the door and open it without having to be aware of where my pocket is in relation to the handle. There are a few times when it might not recognize the key fob so I might have to pull the handle twice, but it's not a big deal since it doesn't happen very often.

I rarely place my cellphone in my pocket, but one day I did. It was in the same pocket as the car fob. The car would not unlock. Seems there was too much interference with the cell phone. Once I removed the cell phone, the keyless access worked great.

Is your phone in the same pocket or otherwise near the keyfob?

Keep the key fob away from your cell phone- the phone will interfere

Bill, make sure you don't have a phone in the same pant pocket as your fob. This can dramatically decrease or nullify its performance.

I never have them in the same pocket as I have other keys with the fob and I don't want to scratch the screen. This is my sixth Acura and I have never had this problem before.
