iOS 8 and iPhone 6/6 Plus
iOS 8 and iPhone 6/6 Plus
FYI, in a note to dealers:
Acura is working with Apple to iron out the compatibility issues.
We have learned if the customer upgrades their iPhone 5, 5S or 5C to iOS 8 or purchases the new Apple iPhone 6/6 Plus, they will encounter some compatibility issues. They will still be able to access their AcuraLink apps and use features such as remote door lock and unlock. The look and layout of some features may be impacted. They will receive an error if accessing the Maps page. If they select “ok” to this error, they will be able to proceed and use the Maps page.
I got the email too.
This is 100% their fault - a bunch of my other apps have been iOS-compatible for some time, or updated in recent days.
I'd be pissed if I paid the money Acura wants for AcuraLink Connect/Premium.
More incompetence.

I never understood why people race out to upgrade there new iOS considering there is almost always 1 or several patches after release. You have a perfectly good working iOS why rush out to upgrade and be the guinea pigs.
I know kind of ironic that I'm posting that on a forum advertising a new TLX lol.

I stay one step behind the newest stuff as far as gadgets go. I am on a Galaxy 4S, got it when the 5S came out. What cracks me up is the people that will wait in line for a week/camp out to get the latest phone/game console/game/etc.

I will be upgrading from my Iphone 5c to the 6, not because I have to have the latest things, but because its bigger and I feel the 5 is to small. As far as IOS updates go I've never had a problem with one. Not gonna lie though, I get pretty excited whenever Apple announces a new product!

Blue tooth synced new iPhone 6 yesterday to 2014 RLX/ Phone functions work fine but can not stream music via bluetooth to car audio: The car can not settle on the song I select on my phone/car screen - just keeps scrolling frantically.
Took me three tries to get mine to pair initially but once paired it imported my phone book and I was able to call out with no problems. Haven't tried to stream via bluetooth yet - will try later today during the grocery run.
With my old '09 TSX I routinely found it necessary to after iOS upgrades to remove and re-pair the device after experiencing numerous oddities, such as the hangups referred to above, dialing the phone but then using the phone's mic and speakers, etc.
When I upgraded my iPhone 5 on Wednesday I saw similar issues on my new TLX. Removing and re-addding did the trick (resetting the phone was not necessary.
When I replaced the phone two days later w/ an iPhone 6 it worked right out of the box as expected.

Over the past week I have found that my iPhone 6 has, on multiple occassions, exhibited the same problem that SPARETIRE mentioned...Once you dial, HandsfreeLink "hangs up" but the phone continues the call and there's no way to transfer the call back to HFL. In addition, if someone calls you, HFL will not recognize it.
I have found that simply turning off Bluetooth on the device and turning it back on (via the iOS Control Center is the fastest way) will resolve the situation for at least as long as the car is running. I have actually gotten in the habit of calling my office voicemail to see if it's working of if I need to do the repair each and every time I get in the car.
Needless to say, none of us should need to test this stuff each time we get in the car. I'll be calling the HFL folks on Monday.
Has anyone figured out how to get an incoming caller's photo to appear on screen, as mentioned in the owner's manual? There is an on/off setting for this in the TLX settings, but with my iPhone 5 or iPhone 6- (with iOS 7 or 8), I cannot get my contact photos to appear.
I wanted to find out if the Siri hands free option is actually useful on the TLX. I've got a Galaxy Note 3 right now and am considering flipping over to the IPhone 6 Plus.
Are you folks using it much?

Everything works fine with my Galaxy S4 on 4.4.2 and then on 4.4.4. I've heard it also works fine on 5.0. Bluetooth and texting works 100%. Having caller photos would be icing on the cake.
