delayed AC start - kicks in after a while
Hi
Something is up with the AC system... yesterday I noticed the AC kicked in after a couple of minutes and some playing around with the controls on the touch screen. I had the car parked at a parking lot, the outside temperature was in the upper 80s F and the AC setting was about 70 F. I let a minute pass by and blowing air was NOT cold. I did not hear the compressor kick in either.
When I set the temp to max cold, I heard the compressor kick in and cold air was blowing as it would normally. Then I set the the temperature setting back to 70 F and it still kept blowing cold air, which is fine.
What could be the problem? And is there anything else I should look for?
Thanks!

I have the same problem, have had for over a year. 2015 TLX. I replaced the relay, it seemed to help initially, but was still not perfect. It seems to be regressing now, but not so bad that I want to spend a lot to fix it. Here is the topic I started in the past.

Update. My son teaches Auto Tech and while he is not a full time mechanic, he's pretty good. He changed his own timing belt and associated parts on his 2007 TL for the second time (180K miles on it now).
He took my TLX and looked over the AC, did not find anything unusual. He decided just in case, to evacuate fully the refrigerant and fill it over. Now every time I start the car, the AC works when I start it. He didn't actually tell me that he replaced the refrigerant (which was to really make sure it was full). I spoke with him today and asked him if he had done something because the system appeared to be working, and he told me about the empty and fill deal. He said if the system is a little low, it could create erratic behavior.
