Battery, alternator or starter
2015 acura tlx advance...hi all. My car has been attempting to start when I press start button at times for about 2 weeks. It's gotten very cold out so now when I try to start...nothing is happening except all the warning and indicator lights are blinking and coming up on the dash. I also leave the car with the key fob and 1 set of headlights are staying on along with both brake lights. I did finally get a jump start and drove to auto zone and the battery tested out at 94 percent and my car started that time with no problem. Has anyone experienced this ? Seems like lights and all are fine now but not sure if it will start in the morning for me to get to work...so stressful...can anyone help me please?? Thank you for any help. Yuvonne

When you try to start are you hearing the starter engage (The clicking sound)? If so, how old is your current battery? It may be due for a replacement.
Weak starts can be indicative of a weak battery or dirty battery terminals.

How old is this battery? If the original, you got your money's worth out of it and needs replacing.
Just swapped out my original battery in a 2018 due to a no start on a cold morning. Also changed the battery in the remote at the same time.

3 things can cause the issue, the first is common to honda/acura when cold.
1. Brake pedal gets very firm when it is cold. You will have to put a LOT of pressure on the pedal for it to register you are on the brake so the car will turn on. I've had this happen on my 13TL numerous times when cold.
2. Battery is weak/low and does not have the power to start the car. The battery can "test" fine after a drive since car charges the battery. Acura/Honda are very hard on batteries, most don't last past the 2 year mark esp on factory batteries.
3. Bad battery connections, a dirty connection can cause all sorts of issues when the temp changes.

Thanks everyone for responding....the owner of a nearby auto shop suggested to disconnect the negative cable to battery for 20 seconds and reconnect. After doing this...I got a jump and thankfully...my car has started fine for 5 trips so far....fingers crossed...but if it doesn't start again...I will definitely install a new battery. Thanks for all the feedback.
