Won't Start

Just recently replaced my 2003 MDX's battery at the local Autozone. 1st few days everything was fine. Now the car has trouble starting. All of the interior & even the exterior lights come on but it seems like the battery is dead. THe 1st time it wouldn't start I kept the key in the start up position & slowly the car began to start. Since that time it will only start after being given a jump. Even more recently after jump all of the dash hazard & warning lights have lit up. I'm not sure if this is a "coding" issue or something else like the starter or alternator.

Check that the battery connections are tight and there is no corrosion. I suspect the autozone fellow did not tighten them properly and you are experiencing a bad or intermittent circuit.

^^^ Could be either of the examples given above. Although since it's a 2003 it maybe the alternator as those are the same indications when the alternator is about to go on Nissans too.

i say alternator. once i read the first 8 words

you just replaced the battery, correct? was it because the last one was doing this? and the $6/hr associate at autozone said its the battery

acura has crap batteries (usually in the 2004+ models).. but Honda (acura) also has crappy alternators....

it could also be corrosion on the terminal or not tightened... maybe the dumbass at autozone sold you the wrong battery too!

Why not just bring it back to the store and have the tech/mgr figure out what the problem is?

There is that possibility that you purchased a bad battery.

Friend of mine owns a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD 6 speed MT and he had an issue where it would not start. Took it to the dealer and it was fixed in 2 days. Did not mention as to what the problem was but indicated that this is a known problem on some units.
