Acura's design language is fucking brutal. And that's an understatement.
Whoever is responsible for Acura's design language- from bottom to top- should be fired.
What a joke and what an empty shell of its former self this company has become. It's like they try to suck.

I agree with the front end... not looking too great in these pics. It's almost like they're going to back to the early Legend and Vigor days. It may work on the MDX since the MDX is larger but I think it's too big for the TLX. If Acura would just put the TLX concept car on the lots for 2018 & 2019 with a better transmission and tires I think this would solve 90% of the problems. Just my .02

So it is not inconceivable that the 2018 TLX may continue with these i4 rims.... but sure, we will wait to find out.

They'll change the wheels. i can't think of any recent Honda/Acura vehicle that has ever kept the same wheels after the MMC.

Summer is Coming
They probably stuck the radar module behind the A and that made it a little on the silly side of large.

I would be curious if Acura would go with an I-4 turbo for its base engine like Lexus and Infiniti or keep the 2.4L i-Vtec NA? Lexus 2.0L turbo (241hp/258tq) Infiniti 2.0L turbo (208hp/258tq) will have almost V-6 power with I-4 fuel economy. Might be time to save the 2.4L N/A for the ILX only.

lol @ the mention of MULE, and maybe Acura will give projector headlights to base TLX's and jewel eyes with the tech package and higher. I'm not Thrilled at all about the TLX and in a couple years will be excited about a FMC and hopefully trade my 4G. We'll see, but I just think Acura needs to get aggressive with the TLX. It doesn't ooze performance sports sedan at all, it just screams sedan and yes I think a fully loaded Optima SXL is better to look at than the TLX. But hey this is just a test tube mule

Is it just me, or does that entire 2018 car just scream "bland"?
i just can't put my finger on it... It almost looks like a modern Crown Vic would, but smaller in size.
Wow. I just realized what I said.

The current overall design language of the brand is bland to me ![Shrug](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/shrug.gif)
Granted I love my MDX, it's nothing exciting. Same goes for my TLX. I think it's because the brand lost its performance aspect. Model year 2012 was my favorite year of Acura's lineup, the cars were just more exciting. I do think the 2017 MDX is a step in the right direction, though. Exposed exhaust is not going to make the car a sports sedan all of a sudden. It's going to take proper brakes, suspension, TRANSMISSION, sport-tuned exhaust, wheels, front and rear fascias, etc. to make it a sports sedan the car once was, well the TL at least.

That front end looks like an Audi+Infiniti offspring at first glance. I guess Acura is still gun shy and "borrowing" from others after the 4th Gen TL design debacle.

Having seen the redesigned MDX in the flesh for the first time two days ago, the Acura logo is HUGE! The grill (mesh) looks good and the wheels are great but that A is screaming at me....Hopefully it will be a bit toned down on the TLX. I am reserving comments until the camo comes off but they need to bring some chiseled lines back to the TLX....It is a bit too bland for me as it stands now. I think the FMC will be the soonest I'll get into one unless of course, a Type S with a sharp looking bodykit and sexy wheels comes to the lineup.

I would go for a +18 TLX if the finish project can look like this or you can configure a "sportier" version compared to the brochure luxo-snooze image. Unfortunately, I think this just a photoshopped guess-i-mation from AcuraConnected.com

If they do jack up the +18 TLX, we could always make our own 15-17 TLX Type-S with aftermarket parts:

Minus the Headlights, that looks like something from 1995. it looks dated before it even is released. Shameful.
