Staggered setup on SH-AWD TL

Hey guys...

First time owner of AWD car, need opinion on staggered setups on AWD cars.

Is there an affect on SH-AWD system? or anything else I should know?

Example:
Front: 20x9 5x120
Rear: 20x10.5 5x120

Thank you in advance

as long as you have the same rolling diameter on all sides. you should be fine.

i went with 20x9 all around.... ^^^ should be ok isnt gonna fix a major repair if it messes with the AWD system... To OP: Its your call because fyahTL runs different offsets and his car is ok, well it might take time for an issue to arise but its really your call... Better be safe than sorry... just do 20x10.5 all around much more aggressive though but it would look nice if youre willing to put in the work.

20x10.5 on all four corners is what I plan on doing offset +42......as good as it sounds....rolling fenders and rubbing issues is a big question mark...

the rears you will have to either roll or shave.. i prefer shave.. it is a much cleaner look and feel to it.. i have mine shaved and you cant tell if its stock or not.

the fronts.. your going to have to roll and do a slight pull..

what size tires are you running for front and rear?

a member here did 10.5 all around on vossens.. his shit is clean.. but i think it severely affected his turning radius..

Yeah CarrieLynn is running 10.5's all around as well... Personally I would go with equal size all around on an AWD... thats one reason we went FWD so we could stagger...

OP there are many threads that cover this subject. However allow me to force my 2cents down your throat. The reason most production cars run a staggered set-up is to find more grip for the rear wheels. In the case of a FWD car, this set-up is not only unnecessary, but detrimental to the car's performance.

Sure it looks cool as hell, but in the end its a lot of money and makes the car slower as well as giving you poor gas mileage and more understeer.

Guessing this was directed at me? Sounds like a statement from someone who's broke and can't afford the mods. Car slower Hrmm... it's an Acura TL I'm not out trying to win any races I've got two sportbikes and a Classic Hot Rod in the garage if I want to do that. Understeer, The car handles 3 times better than stock and while yes if pushed to the limit the front tires will slip before the rears I reffer you back to my first statement it's a TL not a race car. Poor Gas Milage, I have rims and tires on my wifes TL that cost close to 5 grand do I really care if I lost 2 miles per gallon? Didn't loose one second of sleep over it. Oh yeah and looking cool as hell well everbody aint able I am... Putting a Lift and big tires and wheels on my truck didn't help the MPG either guess what didn't care on that one either. On yeah now to you shoving anything around my throat why don't you take your cock holsters off the keyboard and suck your thumb a bit longer so you can get your oral fixation fix. If you'd like to carry on a sensible conversation on the subject in the future I would advise not attempting to shove anything near people no telling what you might find on the other end.

^^^ User Error,

There is no reason for a response like that.

If you didn't like Marco's response, you have now just lowered yourself to that level. Plus, obviously, you don't know Marco.....

In the future, please think twice about your response before you hit the "Enter" button.

Sorry if you feel I was out of line Steven but when someone states they are going to Shove something down my throat I'm going to stand up for myself... and you're right I don't know him and now have no wish to change that... You don't come at someone you don't know like that... I'll be the first one to "Shove" you back in your place...

^Sorry you took that the wrong way, the "shove" was kind of an inside joke for other AZ members because I have been telling these guys to Save Their Money for a while. I really like the staggered look, but would not choose it personally because it is counterproductive to vehicle performance and handling in the 4G TL.
Don't take my BS so seriously...have you looked at my avatar?

BTW OP=Original Poster = shruik74, not you.
