Porsche lug nuts?

Anyone know if Porsche lug nuts will work on the Acura TL? 1998 vintage 911 bolts spec at 14 x 1.5 with a radius seat. Are all radius (ball) seats the same?

They look great in black.

Geez,

With TireRack as a sponsor, I thought I would get an answer.

Tirerack sponsors hundreds and hundreds of other auto forums, so it may take some time for a response if any.

Quickest way is to call Tirerack directly.

Pretty sure Porsche uses lug bolts, not lug nuts. Also, while they are a ball seat, it is a much larger base than on the Honda/Acura lug nuts.

Actually, the older model Porsches (1990-98 approx) use nuts, not lug bolts. In eyeballing the two side by side, the radius seat seems very similar.

No guarantees, but....

I replaced all the Acura lug nuts with the Porsche lug nuts. As I stated earlier, examining them side by side suggested that the radius were same. Torqued the bolts to 85 lb ft. Rechecked the torque after 50 miles. No change.

After 200 miles, I removed one bolt and compared the wear patterns. The original Acura nut has a 3 mm wear mark around the circumference of the radius where it engages the rounded seat. The Porsche nut has an identical mark. At least I know that the Porshce nut is engaging the seat in a manner similar to, if not identical, to the Acura nut.

All this because I like the look of the black lug nuts and to be able to replace that awful looking McGard lock. The radius seat Porsche locking nuts are pricey, but match very well.

Hope this helps anyone who might be interested.
