Eibach Pro Kit / Eiibach Alignment Kit Installed

Anyone who has this setup on their 4G fwd? I just got the alignment kit professionally installed due to the camber issue and 2nd set of Invo's within a year...OUCH! I also had the car 4 wheel alignment and had it dialed in within specs. But when I am on the freeway and say there was a quick dip on the freeway the car sways to the right. Just imagine if you were driving and you suddenly steered quickly to the right and back straight again.. That is what it feels like. Its kind of scary at higher speeds so right now I am not confident with the suspension. I am going to take it back to the shop that installed the alignment kit. But any one here have any suggestions or has been through it and had the issue fixed?

To me it sounds like the stock shocks cant handle the spring rates, which is usually the case when putting aftermarket springs on stock shocks.

Capo...but before I had the alignment kit installed it was good. The car would go straight down and straight up on bumps on the same freeway i go on daily. I have a bagged expedition and it seems more stable than my TL right now...geeez! I was thinking it may be the shocks as well. But its only been 6 months on those springs and the car is a little over a year old. Also if it is shocks..what would you suggest brand wise?

Hey 777,I have the eibach springs on my 09 TL,I do not have the aligment kit. I have the springs now for about 6 months and I think I made a mistake on the eibach springs.reason why is that the ride is verry harsh over any slight bumps on the road. I know someone who works at Acura, he is a parts manager there he said the best springs for Acura are the Tein brand.he told me if I would of purchased tein springs my ride would be allot softer.

Yeah at the time..the car was so new that there was limited availibility on springs. If I waited I would have gotten the Tien Coil Overs...but I already spent $1,000 in with the Eibach pro kit/alignment setup.

That's the problem I don't want to spend more money. I will just leave it alone for now, and in the future I I ever drop a car I will do more reasearch to find out what is the best parts for the vehicle I'm driving.

Well make sure everything is installed correctly first and see what happens. With the eibach drop did you need a camber kit to correct the alignment? Was it that bad? Have the shop re-inspect their work maybe they messed something up.

Dampening issue...

...yeah like what CapoTL said!

You went half ways anyways...if you do spring might as well save up for struts...otherwise if you are planning to upgrade your struts in the future...you are basically paying double the installation or wasting double the time! Alignment kit wont do jack! If you already dialed in specs, don't worry about your tires! They won't uneveningly wear out.

basically it is like this...

...your stiffen rear suspension cause the tire/wheel to rebound upwards...causing your contact patch to become smaller (i.e. less grippy) then when it comes downward...contact patch is a lot bigger (a lot of grip is all of a sudden obtained) Hence the delay of grip hence the noticeable sway during a turn. I bet it doesn't sway on a straight away, just bouncy probably! As is your OEM strut are shot!

CK...let me know...I am curious!
