Aftermarket TPMS Interchangeable?

Hey all,
I know this topic has been discussed, but I haven't really found any solid answers one way or another. I recently purchased a set of tires and wheels that came off a Pontiac G8. They have TPMS sensors installed(taking his word on that one), and they were puchased from tirerack. Being that G8's sensors operate at 315MHz and that they are aftermarket parts, these should be compatible with TL's, correct?
I have only seen the pressure read on one tire for about 2 minutes and ever since then I have had a TPMS system error message. I have read that the system resets within a couple of miles and reads correctly for most people, but this has been a few weeks now. I contacted the dealer and they said they can reset the system to try to get it to recognize the sensors, but they would charge me and there is no guarantee that it would work. Has anyone had this issue before (using sensors previously installed on a different make)?? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I was reading about this earlier and I ended up just purchasing a set of TPMS sensors but 315mhz should be pretty general. It could be the batteries of the sensors are done.

I know Potzmilk was referring on a forum that these models: 42607-0C070, 42607-0C050, 42607-08010 are all interchangeable and searching eBay shows that they are TRW branded and OEM Toyota sensors.

I know it's not much help but I'd say see how long the previous owner had them and then replace them since they're only like $80 for 4.

I can't say for sure what sensors are on there, but maybe tirerack would be able to tell me. I took my car over to discount tire today and they could not communicate with them with the device when Acura TL was selected, but could when Pontiac G8 was selected. So it looks like the sensors are there and working, but my car is not recognizing them. I'm not sure if the dealer can just reset the system and it will learn them, or if I would be wasting my money trying.

At Costco the price per sensor is $45 + $15 installation.
Regarding the older post about using Pontiac G8 sensors: These are not compatible with your Acura even though the frequency is the same. Also, having the system reset/relearned requires having all 4 correct sensors in place and operable first. To diagnose which sensors need replaced (if any), stop by a place like costco (or any decent tire shop) to scan them for free. Avoid the dealer, they often will charge just for checking and almost always recommend replacing all 4 sensors when usually isn't necessary.
