A terrible buzzing sound

First, let me say I have done a search and I could not find any information on the problem I am going to describe.

When I start the car, particularly on a cold morning, there is a buzzing sound coming from the front of the car. My wife even hears it. It sounds exactly like electric clippers the barber uses to trim neck hair. The sound goes away after about 10-15 seconds.

I have never heard a sound like this come from any car I have ever seen. Any ideas?

open your hood and localize the sound a bit more. does it go away when the cars warmed up?

Sorry for the delay, been working long hours.

Started the car this morning and had the hood open. Ran out of the car (since foot has to be on brake) and noticed the sound wasn't coming from the front, but from the rear. Walked around and it was really loud and coming from the left rear wheel area, maybe even from the bottom. I didn't expect that.

Went away after about 20-30 seconds.

hopefully the car is driving fine.... any brake issues recently... the clipper buzz noise would make it seem like it was a moving part creating it, but not too sure what it could be in the rear, might wanna jack it up when ur free and look around. make a vid with your cellphone of it happening, take it to the dealer.

Did you ever figure this out?? I have the same issue on my 2012 TL, and this is exactly as I've described it - sounds like electric clippers. Have had the car for a year and haven't been able to figure it out...

Sounds like it's just your fuel pump turning on. Totally normal to hear it when you first start the car for about 10-15 seconds and you might hear it run a little directly after you shut the car off. Nothing to worry about.
