Hi...I have Acura 2012 SH-AWD...since last 4 weeks, I am noticing that as soon as car reaches around 110-120 km/h, the static noise start coming somewhere front the front of the passenger side...this noise will go away as soon as I am below 110-100 km/h...I went to a regular mechanic but he could not find where the noise is coming from...Has anyone else experience same? Any comment will be appreciated.
Is it coming from the engine bay? Have someone else sit in that passenger seat and do them where it counts like it’s coming from. Maybe your have a loose muffler strap, it could be anything. Unfortunately this is probably a scenario you’ll have to do some research on by opening your engine bay and just checking everything making sure nothing is loose, even check the plastic cover under the car that protects the transmission and steering rack.
If this is like a whistling type of noise, it maybe a propellor shaft issue. I had mine replaced under warranty (2009 TL - replaced part in 2011). This sound seems like it came from front passenger area which is odd.
@echodigital It's not a whistling type noise, it's purely static sometimes crackles a bit. I initially thought I blew out my speaker but it happens even when the sound system is off. Like the original post said it only happens at higher speeds or when the cars under load. I'm thinking it may be ground looping.

After so many trial and error, I found out that the black seal on the trim was loose so due to wind at high speed it will vibrate, which will create static noise...I just applied some glue to the black seal and the problem is gone for good...it costed me $1.00 glue...

Yes, that’s the one. When the car is not moving, it’s hard to notice that it’s loose because it’s so thin. It will take lots of wind force to vibrate. Have someone sit in the passenger side while driving on highway at around 120km/h, open the passenger side window and have him put his hand around the chrome trim. That’s how I figured out that the rubber seal is loose and that’s making the noise.
