Rattling noise rear passenger side

Hey guys,

Today I've noticed a rattling sound comming from the rear on the passenger side. Sounds like if something is loose. I've noticed that it was audible only when I was going over cracks on the road. The larger the crack the noisier the sound.... I live in Quebec and we do have the shittiest roads! My TL only has 50k kilometers so I was thinking that it could be a failing link kit witch would match the symptoms perfectly. Any of you guys had similar issues?

Thanks!

2012 TSX Wagon here. I also noticed a rattle in the rear seat behind the driver. For me, the seat back was a little loose. I put some padding in the area that locks the seat back in place and that stopped the rattling.

Also in MTL 94k on my elite model and the rear has been making sounds over small bumps on the road. Checked rear suspension and link kits all tight. I'm afraid it's the plague of the failing rear struts many others have the same issue.

The sound is only audible with the windows open so I'd doubt I have the same issue as you did. Never the less thanks for the input!

I hope it ain't. I'll have my local stealership chek it out. 65$ for a diagnostic aint that bad. Ill have the job be done by my mecanic near by. I find it rdiciculous that a car with barely 50k kilometers has a failing strut. I had an 06 accord with over 300K Kilo and the suspension was still in great shape...Do you think I should ask Acura Canada for a goodwill since the car as so few mileage?

I think I have this exact issue - a rattling / tapping noise (not clunk or thump) when going over sharp bumps (not smooth humps or speed bumps)
It resembles loose endlinks very closely, so I replaced them but same thing.
Only audible with windows down, so it's definitely suspension.
Rear struts are not leaking, and I can't replicate by rocking the rear of the car.

Any progress here?

Check the TSB sticky. Depending on the year of your TL, there is at least one TSB for exactly the noise you're describing. Sorry I can't refer you to the exact one, but they're easy to browse through. Good luck.

Like JM2010 said there's a TSB for it.

This one seems to be exacly spot on.

I tried the above TSB over the weekend, and it did nothing
I kept prying until screwdriver was about 1.5" into the gap and made sure there was enough space in there...
Also felt that if that was the source of the noise, you would hear it with the windows up, like the rear deck panel tap, wouldn't you?

I didn't have the sealant so I just duct taped over it - is this where I messed up - does the sealant play any part in stopping the rattle?

I got my winter rims installed and since then the sound is gone! Its like a combination of an other TSB...

Thing is the sound use to come from the back passenger side... I've done some more research and It could be top bushing thats worned out. Anyways no sound for now.

Read about the famous roof rattle. My 2010 TL had that.
