Nothing but problems with my TL.

So I had to go to the dealership to get an alignment a few weeks ago - the car veers to the right if I center the steering wheel.

They align it; now the car veers to the left when I center the steering wheel. The retards simply REVERSED the alignment to go the opposite way.

It gets better:

My exhaust tips are uneven on the back of the car. The driver's side exhaust tip is slightly lower than the other one.

My dashboard had a few blemishes on it when I first bought the car; simply haven't bothered to get it fixed because it would lower the overall value of the car if they replaced it.

I had to take in my car twice when I got my tires rotated because they FORGOT to rotate the two tires on the passenger side of the car.

The people in the dealership are morons. They act like you are asking for a cure for cancer anytime you try and get anything done.

The city gas mileage is atrocious. I'm lucky to get 18 mpg.

BTW, don't ever buy a car from King Acura in Bham, AL. They are crooks.

Looks like the dealership is to blame for most of the problems. As far as the mileage, you might want to check the tire pressure. IMO just go to another dealership and tell them your problems, see if they can do anything. Definetely somethings that should be fixed. exactly what car do you have? year, transmission, mileage etc.

sorry to hear about all the problems... i'm not 100% sure, but i think there is something about cars with dual exhaust... they tend to always be uneven...

i'd go to another dealership...

Sounds to me like you have had no problems with your TL...you have had problems with your dealer.

As for the tips being uneven and the blemishes in your dash, I am sorry to hear that you have some cosmetic issues with your TL, but, again, I wouldn't consider these problems with your TL...

Very deceptive title to your post...

There's another thread on the exhaust tips where the poster eventually was able to get the problem solved. The OP of this thread has posted in it, so I assume he's aware of it.

Are you sure you don;t have a tire probelm and they just didn't swap the
front tires?

18 City is what the FWD TL is rated for not sure what you expected, although I driv ein ATL and can get roughly 20MPG in my AWD so I woudl expct to get 21-22 in the FWD. I used to get 21+ around town in my Type-S. Theses are upwards of 300HP cars at almost 2 tons I'm OK with what mine gets. My gf has a 09 CRV with 4 cylinder and only gets 22-24 around town and my car is so much more fun to drive!!

I agree, it sounds like these are more of a dealership issue than a car issue.

It sounds like you may have noticed these blemishes from the gate. Well if so, shame on you for buying a car w/ blemishes on it and then being upset about it at a later time.

*sigh* this is because your engine is still breaking in. Also, as another posted has pointed out, 18 is exactly what your car is rated for in the city.

I would agree that all of those problems appear to be problems with your dealership. The fuel mileage is not the greatest, but you are running a 3.7L V6 engine and it is rated at 18 mpg. The exhaust unevenness is pretty normal for a lot of cars, if you look closely enough. Have you measured it with a measuring tape? I wouldn't worry about it if it looks close enough. It's a car. Not even your own two feet are the exact same length... well... at least mine aren't!

Nothing but problem...

I agree that the title is misleading, but I wonder if we Acura is aware of the type of dealers they recruit. I have been lucky with mine, have heard couple of horror stories about how they treat the car and the customer. I've written to Acura. I hope you will too. A car company this good deserves a better class of dealers.

When you write to Acura, did you get a reply?

I actually spoke to the customer representative, who called me once they received the letter; and I repeated the stories of dealer inadequacies I had heard about. He made a note of it. I have not heard anything else since.

Sounds like all the replies are right on the money.

18 mpg is pretty good.

go to another dealer.

if all else fails and you're so unhappy with your Acura/Honda, get a Dodge/Chrysler.

I agree the dealership is the problem, not the car. Your exhaust tips being uneven could have happened at the dealership or when shipping. When you took delivery of the car, I take it you didn't inspect it? As far as MPG s go, If you have the SH-AWD expect high teens low 20 MPG in the city and if you don't also remember this is a heavier car that the previous generation, so MPGs will fall 3.7L 300+ HP similar to the G35/37X models. (300+ HP also) If you wanted a vehicle that gets good MPGs in the city you should have purchased an Insight or Civic.

I agree with citidelx. You should have inspected the car more thoroughly before accepting it. If you want you can adjust the tips yourself. Find the one that is offset higher and take a long pry bar and stick it in the exhaust and bend it down your self. It will take a TON of force to bend the hanger, so dont be afraid to put some weight on the bar.

sounds like a dealer that should be assigned to dodge cars only where they will be praised.
