Hi everyone its been a while, so glad this community is still around.
I'm having a weird problem. Everything was fine, I drove to a friends house (everything working perfect), turned car off. Came back, turned car on and POOF, no air AT ALL coming from ANY of the vents. Not hot, not cold, no AC, not on max, I've tried EVERY setting (temp/climate control works as it should but nothing comes out).
I did some research and did a HDS self diagnostics on the climate control system, here is what it showed:
) it looks like its errors:
C - open in the outside air temp sensor circuit
E - open in the sunlight sensor circuit
None of that makes any sense to me.. maybe it does to someone here?
I tried to check the fuses but the videos and links I found online dont add up or maybe I'm looking at it wrong!?
Anyone know exactly which fuses to check for the blower motor/HVAC not starting? I also understand its commonly the blower motor resistor (or wiring) this I cannot check myself because I am too big (I'm 6'6 with large arms lol), I tried but I simply cannot fit under the dashboard (especially in this COLD).
Any tips, advice (even before I take it to mechanic assuming its NOT the fuse) WOULD be greatly appreciate it. I gotta get this fixed ASAP as I cannot defrost the windows and its freezing!!!! Please help, thank you!
Maybe I'm brain frozen from trying to find the RIGHT fuses this morning (which I could not find) but I dont see an edit button for original post.
Forgot to add that this is Acura TL 2012 with tech package if that makes any difference with only like (80k miles on it) and barely driven (I live in NYC)
I think thats normal though isnt it? The second video I posted (where the guy shows how the build in self diagnostics works) also has the Auto and Mode lights in their video before showing an error code: A (dash in top left of the 8) and MODE but mine shows E and C (which shouldnt be possible as according to the repair manual error codes are shown one after another and not simultaneously).
I actually read the codes WRONG in my initial post. The codes that show up at SAME time are:
C: A problem in the blower motor circuit
E: An open or short in the passenger's mode control motor circuit
I havent run it through
I havent had run it through OBD (went to 3 different shops at this point and its all a guessing game to them...) all had great reviews but didnt have an OBD scanner and one specializes in AC repair etc. I dunno what to do, I guess maybe try to start replacing parts one by one myself and pray it works or find someone who can do it on the cheap for labor (im REALLY tall so I have hard time fitting under the passenger glovebox.

I see you're in NYC - I'm in NJ. I actually just took my car to ChristianS2K (on instagram) (Auto Care Clinic), in New Windsor. He does all the work on my S2K but does Honda/Acura maintenance as well. They are in the process of moving to a new shop which will be further away but they are absolutely great.
Thanks for the tip but it's a little far from me (over 1 1/2 hours with no traffic) although my brother lives in NJ but its also pretty far (an hour away).
I think I'm going to get the blower motor and blower motor resister tomorrow from autozone and try replacing it myself. I found a video how to replace the blower motor resistor but not the blower motor itself but it seems easy enough based on pre 2009 TL models and on similar year TSX models (its only 3-4 screws) videos that Ive seen and can be done from underneath the passenger glove box.
It just sucks because I'm REALLY tall (6'6) and its REALLY hard to fit under there lol (not to mention its freezing outside) but its better then paying $300+ for labor to replace something that takes less then 20-30min for BOTH (honestly its like 10min if your small and have the right tools). It's stupid and ridiculous what these mechanics charge in NYC. I get inflation, lift charges, minimum 1 hour, etc etc but I still find it just ridiculous to pay someone $300+ for labor for 15-20min of work, ESPECIALLY when they don't even guarantee this will fix the problem.
If anyone knows any good, honest, and most important SMART mechanics who actually know what they are doing around NYC please let me know. I rather pay someone to do it, even if its not cheap, as long as I know it will 100% work afterwards but paying someone hundreds of $ for 15-20min of labor when they cannot even say for sure it will fix the problem just sounds INSANE to me... maybe its just me though, I dunno lol

I would start with the basics, checking the blower motor, fuses and resistor.
Today I went to AutoZone and bought a brand new motor blower resistor and blower motor. I replaced BOTH but the problem still remains same as before (even the HVAC self diagnostics shows the same error code as in my initial post); good thing I didnt waste money on a mechanics that wanted to blindly replace these two components.
I'm at a loss what else it could be or where to go to get this fixed (besides the dealer which will cost an arm and a leg).
I checked the fuse (couldnt figure out how to take it out) but it doesnt look bad (pic below). I read there is also a blower motor RELAY but I can't seem to find where its located, anyone know where it is on the 12-14 TL model (maybe 09-11 too, if in the same place).
PROBLEM FIXED! Got my AC/HEAT and ALL air back finally. Found where the blower motor relay was (pic below; its number 1) and replaced it (40a blower fuse was good and didnt have to be replaced) and everything started working again.
I dont think the relay was the sole problem (most likely motor and/or resistor as well) because after replacing both and air still not working I at least started hearing the compressor (i think) making a noice when I switched from hot to AC (something it didnt do before) even though there was no air still.
Anyways, thx for the tips to everyone who contributed. Hope this helps someone else in the future if they have a similar problem.
number 1 is the blower motor relay
