Jerky Shifting

Hello All,

I have a 2012 AWD TL and it started jerking aggressively. Earlier in the week I drove it in sport and manually shifting until I got thrown into a sort of limp mode. It went back to normal but with the CEL light still lit.

The CEL light came on, and brought a code;
P2646: A rocker arm actuator system performance or stuck off bank 1.

Checking online what this meant, a few said to start off and check the oil levels and how oil could be sludgy or even cover a "screen" on a pressure switch.

I checked the dispstick the morning after and the car had little oil (near the end of the dispstick). I topped up the oil to the appropriate amount and then cleared the code.

I then went on for a drive with the intention of replicating my earlier drive in an attempt to see if I could return the code. Upon driving it did something different. The car started jerking back and forth vigorously.

Driving in 1st gear under 30km/h felt fine but accelerating and trying to get into 2nd gear is where it was felt. The car felt as if it didn't want to go into gear and would make a struggle back and forth causing the rpm to go up and down and the car to jerk repeatedly.

The CEL did not return and I am confused.

Alright so changing the Mass Air Flow Sensor out let me get it into drive without it stalling. It jerked around for a bit but after it was ok.
