2009 Acura TL SH-AWD. Rained hard today. Never had any issues with headlights/DRL/fogs...nothing.

I noticed when I was driving home my screen above the climate controls (where the NAV would be if I had it) would dim, then get bright again..over and over again.
When I got home, with the car running, I noticed that my headlights would not turn off even with the switch in the OFF position. One of the DRL lights was on the other was out and one fog light was out. Also the climate controls lights were out (radio lights were on), and lights on the door panel were out.

I take the key out and switch the lights on...everything works perfectly. ALL lights come on just like normal. I stick the key in and they act odd again...one fog light out, one DRL on...etc.

What the world is going on?

 

Is your alternator ok? and have you done any custom work to the car?

 

Yes, the alternator has been working fine. No problems as far as I know. No battery issues.

No custom work. Stock.

 

Ok, all of the problems went away. All lights are on and working as they should. It looks like the issue is somehow occurring when there is heavy rain in the area...something must be getting wet in the car and causing the erratic behavior. A few months ago, when it was raining, my wipers started going really fast although it was set on intermittent and I couldn't turn them off. Strange.

Thoughts?

 

I had a similar issue with my wipers. They replaced the motor under warranty and it was fixed.

 

could be a bad ground, somewhere .
