Clean PCV Valve

My 2010 TL has 55K miles on it and I want to clean the PCV valve. Can someone tell me where it is located?

On my 2009 TL it is located on the front valve cover at the far right end right above the oil filler cap, hidden somewhat under the wire harness plastic cover. (FYI: Just to the left of the EGR valve)
It is held in by one bolt. Has 2 o-rings on it per the factory repair manual.

I don't think the PCV valve is something that gets contaminated with carbs or anything else, easily. And at 55K miles it probably looks shiny and new. On the other hand the EGR valve and the EGR passage, under the cover of the intake manifold, probably need some car cleaner on them.

Just a thought...

I changed the PVC valve on my friends 2008 Odyssey (106K miles). It had some oil on it but otherwise it was clean.

Not sure about a TL, but on most cars, the PCV is less than $10, so just replace rather than try to clean? on my RDX its almost $20, but then, its also not the typical simple design PCV, being specifically for the Turbo application.

It should be changed at about 80k IMO, sooner if short commutes are prevalent. If it gets dirty and doesnt vent properly, extra pressure will build up in the crankcase, which will cause oil to leak thru gaskets and rear main seal. The rear main seal is a $15 part, but the transmission needs to be removed to get to it which is prob $500 in labor.

Here is a new one for $11 shipped, although it is prob an aftermarket if it matters.

There are discussions about seafoam, which could help if you do it right.

Preventive maintanence.
