Audio control not working
My wife has the acura tl 2012. Today, she told me that since yesterday, she can not turn off the radio, nor can she use any of the button in the audio section, ie, radio channel selection buttons does not work, any of the buttons there does not work. I went to her car, and it is as described. however, the volume turning knob works and the mode selection knob also works, but all the button does not work. so, i can turn up and down the volume, but can not turn off audio. I can turn to switch between radio and cd, but can not select it.
Anyone has seem this? What could be disable the buttons and how to fix it?
Thanks.

I have the same problem with my 2009 TL. I can work the radio with the buttons on the steering wheel, but not on the dash. Can't turn off the radio. Every once in awhile the dash buttons will work, but mostly not work. Is it a short or fuse issue?

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but was there ever a fix for this? My dash controls work off and on but the steering wheel controls still work! Any idea if it's a fuse? Wiring? Can I fix it myself somehow?

Having same intermittent issue with audio controls on the dash not working on a 2012 TL. Is the only fix a new head unit or is it a wiring problem? Of course I'm out of warranty by about 10 months.

A replacement head unit is a couple hundred bucks at a scrapyard/eBay.

I had the same issue with my 2011 TL. Yes, I freaked out when it happened.
You most likely have a stuck button. Mine is ALWAYS the little AUDIO button in the center, below the volume knob.
It tends to stick when it's warmer outside when the heat slightly expands the plastic.
Tap the button a few times and see if it springs back out.
Enjoy

For me it was exactly what RadioActive said above....my SCAN button was stuck. I couldn't tell by looking at it but as soon as I pressed it, I knew it was stuck. I used a blade to pop it back out and boom...problem fixed. Everything works as normal again. HOPEFULLY it's something simple like that for you. I felt kinda dumb that I'd been driving around with this problem for so long and it was something literally right in front of me. Good luck!

Hey everyone. I had the same issue with no buttons working on my head unit. Steering wheel did work.
someone above said a stuck button. None of my buttons were “stuck” per se but I turned my car off and pressed every single button on the head unit 5 times. Setup, return, all the channel and source buttons, everything. Turned my car back on and it now works.
I have a 2009 Base.

Hallelujah and thank you for your posts to those of you who mentioned stuck buttons!
Although my buttons looked fine, I followed the advice of Nick Reich and pushed every audio related button several times and voila!...
...the radio and other audio is back to normal!
I signed up here today, just so I could say thank you!
