Air condition

When it's cool outside it blows out cool air. My brother tried to put freon in it but it was already full. He also said he could hear the air compressor. Can someone please lead me on the right direction

Wait. So when its cool outside it blows cool air. What happens when it is warm outside?

I hope your brother knows how to re-charge the AC unit. I would go get the AC checked at a dealer to make sure it is working.

When it's warm it blows out hot air. I was wondering could it be the relay

Set the climate control to a low temperature, manually turn on AC and let me know what it does. Could be a burnt out relay or fuse for the AC unit.

Alright it seems, best case, its the relay or fuse. Check them out and see.

had a similar issue. ac would only sometimes blow cold air. it was the relay. you can find it on amazon for around 15-20$ shipped.

The compressor will not turn on if the freon level is too low! Also it could be a bad a/c compressor relay. Manually jump the terminals (remove relay and connect terminals on box with wire) and see if it kicks on. If not, it may be a damaged field coil or compressor clutch. You can buy a new denso compressor much cheaper than acura on rockauto if you need it. Highly recommend replacing the drier at the same time.

Thanks everyone and I hope that it's the relay. My freon is full. I really do appreciate you all responding.

I had a similar issue in my 99 TL. It was one of the radiator fans that had failed and didn't spin. If the Freon doesn't cool enough the pressure elevates to the point where the high pressure switch turns off the compressor. First item to check (because it's the easiest to check) is to make sure both radiator fans are working.
