2011 TL Trunk Leak

Hi - I recently purchased a used 2011 TL from an Audi dealership and the 2 month warranty just expired a month ago of course. I recently discovered that there is a leak in the trunk and from what I can tell it is coming in through the light in the trunk. I am not finding any information of this being a particular issue with this car so it is a bit disturbing. We have just had a lot of rain here recently in the northeast and this is when I noticed it. It is not a huge amount of water but still enough to be concerning. Any help or insight appreciated.

take the light out and see if it is coming from there. use a water hose and spray water.

I park my car on an incline (rear is higher then and front) so I use my hand brake all the time. For the last 3 years and I have not had a leak in the trunk.

1. Check the side wells and make sure that its' clear.
2. Maybe check out this video: https://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2...hts/tail_light and pry out fabric liner to check where the leak is coming from.
3. I have removed the trunk light and replaced it with an LED. You can pop out light housing with a flat head screw driver. The front light part comes off and the light 'housing' comes down a bit.

You will mostly like need to replace the taillight gaskets. This happened to my RSX Type-S during the winter rain when the taillights would fog up and I would find a large puddle of water in my spare tire compartment.

normally if there is a leak its either a gasket or sealant. if its coming from the light, its probably that the rear glass was replaced and they did not sealed it properly.
