Acura TL 2012 AC problem
Acura TL 2012 AC problem
I am having problem with my AC in Acura 2012 TL. When I turn on AC, the fan still works, I can adjust the level of fan no problem. However, it does not blow any cool air out. I just wonder what's wrong with that. Is it just out of refrigerant or some mechanical issues inside the AC system? Thanks a lot.
AC systems are the worse to work on DIY project. Not only for the tools necessary but also the expertize. I'd take it to the dealer if I were you. Now, all that being said, there is a self diagnostic for AC on our TLs. A sequence of dash buttons to push to start the diagnostic. If you look in the main section of this TL generation forum you'll find that someone has posted the shop repair manual. The self-diagnostic for the HVAC is around section 21. Sorry, can't copy+paste it here due to copyright.

I had a similar issue in my 99 TL. It was one of the radiator fans that had failed and didn't spin. If the Freon doesn't cool enough the pressure elevates to the point where the high pressure switch turns off the compressor. First item to check (because it's the easiest) is to make sure both radiator fans are working. DC fan motors do wear out over time; some sooner than others.
