Hi!
Dad's TL has the drivers side climate stuck on HI. Can change the fan speed and the mode, but not the temp. Can control the passenger side independently and it works fine with temp changes. When hitting 'sync,' both sides go to the HI setting.

Any ideas or tricks? Starting to get warm out and need to help him out here so that we can get AC/cooler temps in the car.

 

If you turn the temp setting down so that the A/C comes on, does either side put out cold air?

 

Yes, only on the passenger side. The drivers side will not change, but the passenger side will change and blow either hot or cold while the drivers stays hot.

 

My only suggestion is to take the switch out and unplug it and see if the button might be stuck in the on position. You can pick up a used set of buttons from ebay/salvage yard or try cleaning out the button with electrical contact cleaner and see if it helps. You can buy the whole part brand new for $110 (#19) or buttons for $30.80 each.
