yes, it's a common issue after a few years on all cars; ebay/amazon have cheap replacements available and take a few minutes to replace! Very straightforward and easy! I think I spend $20 on both total.

Very common issue with these cars. When getting the oil consumption recall done my service tech remarked that my car was one of the only ones with working hood struts lol! But that's only because I have replaced them with a set off eBay. Paid $30 cad

Yep, common problem. Just replace the failed strut(s).

Extremely easy to replacement. I swapped out mine with these from Amazon and it took literally 1 minute per strut.

They also failed on my 2013 TL last year. Acuracare covered it with OEM parts.

Thanks

Thanks for responses on hood gas struts. Now, driver #2 says trunk lid doesn't always stay up. What hold that open ?

Do you know of any common 2013 TL issues? I’m considering buying a 2013 TL with 82,500 miles. I don’t know whether to buy a car with that many miles. I currently have a 2004 TL with 205,000 miles. It is my third Acura. Thank you!

The big issue on the '13 TL is to make sure the Takada driver's side airbag recall has been completed. . Not many problems on our '13. We did have the rear suspension struts replaced under warrantee. They were making a lot of noise.

The trunk is held open with torsion springs; Honda/Acura uses a special tool to unhook and replace them. It's part number 13 and 14 for each of the springs, about $15 each:
https://www.acuraoemparts.com/v-2013...ing--trunk-lid

Depending on your trim, you may have the same springs linked above or weaker ones (base without spoiler).
