2012 TL - Windshield Washer Not Working

Hi all - had a strange problem recently that I was wondering if anybody had seen before. I have a 2012 TL Advance. No major problems and I don't drive that much (maybe 7K miles a year now). However, I recently noticed that my windshield washer stopped working. When I pull the stalk to release the windshield washer, I can hear the sound, but nothing comes out. I have checked the resevoir and it is full. I am due for an oil change soon, so I am going to get it checked out, but figured I would check before seeing what the Honda dealer says.

I had a similar experience with mine - it turned out that the type of windshield wash that removes bug residual left an orange "goo" blocked the motor. I think I had the "Rain-X All Season 2-in-1 Windshield Washer Fluid", and the problem started to appear after maybe just one gallon. I thought I needed a new motor, but my friend at the Acura dealer helped remove the goo, and everything just worked. It was a small job for him, but for an average person (he said $20 is enough, I paid him $40 for his time), you most likely need professional help. He also mentioned that he saw plenty of cars having this issue.

Going forward, stop using those fancy wash, just stick to the cheapest you can find.

Ok that’s has to be it. I had been using the generic blue stuff and then recently bought some special concentrate to use. I run my washers a lot so it probably got gummed up. Thanks
