Anybody still having the smearing windshield problems?

Anybody still have the chattering problems with the wipers from the residue crap that develops? I've changed my wipers 5 times, even using silicone blades now, initially, when it first starts to rain they work fine, but after using them for a bit, they start to chatter-almost as if they are working too good, and they start to stick to the windshield. Mind you, I wash my car every week, so the window is always wiped and cleaned. In it's transition from wiping, then returning to it's resting position, where the wiper stops to go the other way I get a buildup of residue that has to be rubbed(not wiped) out to remove. I took the car to PAA a while back about it, Jens put some "Bon Ami" cleaner, it helped for all of 5 minutes before giving me the residue again..The wipers never go up and down smooth, if you look at the wipers they quiver back and forth when it's wiping.. I'm sure a few of you can relate to it..Mind you, the wipers still work excellent, they wipe clean without water streaks...Anybody ever come to a solution? I'm just about ready to change my windshield because it's so damn aggravating.. Anyone?

Maybe its the soap you use? It could have a wax or some chemical in it that causes the wipers to chatter?

LOL Well thats the main reason I am getting a new windshield....the other 'non-factor' is that I have a crack running the legnth of it that gets bigger evry day

Mine was different. My car ('01) was covered under the TSB for cars that left the factory with washer fluid that had too high of an alchohol content.

I didn't have the chattering/skipping problem. Just real bad smudging that was hard to clean.

The alchohol was breaking down the rubber tubing, and once you used the washer fluid, it would start breaking down the wiper blades.

At 3K miles I took it in to get it fixed along with the warped rotors. They flushed the fluid, replaced all of the washer tubing and replaced the wiper refills.

18K miles later and I have had no more problems.

What kind of washer fluid are you using?
I have been using the Rain X washer fluid summer & winter.
I use the Rain X De-Icer in the winter & the Bug Remover in the summer Walmart sells it as well as some auto stores. I use the factory wiper blades & have only change them once in the 2 & a half years of having the car. I have never had a chatter problem. I was watching Pat Goss last week from PBS Motor Week TV Show.
Since that show comes from this area he has a Sat 30min show of his own. He has his own garage in Maryland & does work on cars as well as his segement on Motor Week TV. Someone called in to the TV program show last week & asked about the kinds of wiper blades. Pat suggested using the factory blades & putting the Rain X washer fluid in the system. He said that is what he has uses & gets great results. I have also used it & have had no chatter or skipping problems.
