2012 TL Trunk not opening

Hello all,
I have a 2012 TL. The trunk will not open with either the remote or door button. When I press the trunk button on the door I hear a click within the left side of the dashboard but nothing happens. I checked valet switch that’s ok. Fuses appear ok, but don’t see one specific to the trunk. Any ideas, or someone that has been able to fix this problem? I have to open the trunk with the manual pull handle.

Previous people with the same issue blamed the valet switch being intermittent/broken.

Could be some loose wires so you'll need to troubleshoot!

There's a manual release through the rear pass through under the rear shelf! You can use it to open the trunk.

Look at the mechanism and see if it's moving. Sometimes it can click but it'll be stuck or damaged and won't be able to unlatch. Happened in my 3G TL and replaced the latch from an accord for a few dollars.
