well this just happened today. my trunk does not open at all unless i use the emergency latch in the trunk. If i use my remote or button on the driver door it does not open. could this be a fuse? any help will be appreciated.

 

maybe your trunk is locked by the switch in the glove compartment

so your trunk doesnt open with the key FOB and even by pushing the button inside the car? cant figure out what the problem is and now i have to open the trunk through the rear seats everytime.

 

Fuse or selonoid on the trunk that releases it

 

^ do you happen to know of which fuse it is? its on the passenger side correct?

 

Try checking No. 12 on the passenger side fuse box. It should be a 20A. Let me know if it works.

 

It's also in your manual.

I’m almost positive that it’s your fuse. If its not, be prepared to spend big bucks. Good luck.

Appears to be #24.

Have you opened the trunk with the saftey release cable to look at the lock to see if the wires still conected? or tried testing that its getting power?

 

^ i have tried using the emergency latch, and that works fine. also when i check try opening the latch by remote/button i hear a tiny sound (like a click) coming from the fuse box area on the passenger side. ill go check it again right now to see if there are any disconnected lines.

 

well everything seems to be intact. fuse is ok, line connected, so now i guess its the solenoid in the latch that seems to be the problem..?

 

Yes it sounds like thats the problem then.

 

can anyone see if it is the #12 fuse on the passenger side? when i looked at it say it was for power door locks..? well i just want to make sure its not something else before i spend like 60 bucks on the whole lock. thanks!

 

nm..i am 90% sure its the lock. ordering the part tomorrow, let you guys know how it goes.

 

Did replacing the lock assembly fix your problem?
