Problem with trunk not opening..

Problem with trunk not opening..

well this just happened today. my trunk does not open at all unless i use the emergency latch in the trunk. If i use my remote or button on the driver door it does not open. could this be a fuse? any help will be appreciated.

maybe your trunk is locked by the switch in the glove compartment

^ do you happen to know of which fuse it is? its on the passenger side correct?

Try checking No. 12 on the passenger side fuse box. It should be a 20A. Let me know if it works.

It's also in your manual.

I’m almost positive that it’s your fuse. If its not, be prepared to spend big bucks. Good luck.

thanks guys! i will check that and see if i need a new fuse. yea i use the trunk everyday so everytime i have to go though the back seat..what a bitch. but thanks!

hey i checked the fuse and it seems to be fine. which part would i need from the diagram below if i were to replace the solenoid.

Appears to be #24.

Have you opened the trunk with the saftey release cable to look at the lock to see if the wires still conected? or tried testing that its getting power?

^ i have tried using the emergency latch, and that works fine. also when i check try opening the latch by remote/button i hear a tiny sound (like a click) coming from the fuse box area on the passenger side. ill go check it again right now to see if there are any disconnected lines.

well everything seems to be intact. fuse is ok, line connected, so now i guess its the solenoid in the latch that seems to be the problem..?

can anyone see if it is the #12 fuse on the passenger side? when i looked at it say it was for power door locks..? well i just want to make sure its not something else before i spend like 60 bucks on the whole lock. thanks!
