2012 TL SH-AWD ADV PKG Dashboard rattle update!
Hey Guys....
Stay tuned... The Acura District Manager is coming in the morning to inspect my car.... He has 7 videos i recorded of that darn rattle (sounds like when you crumble paper) Mind you... They have changed NAV/RADIO harnesses... Changed A/C Vents and hoses... Felt the back of the dashboard and it's still there..... If they can't fix it... They better replace it.... I'm on the verge to switch to a BMW 535 Xi or a 335 Xi

Got back from meeting... Took my car out for a spin and boom... she started her rattling... The sound is not even coming from the dashboard... it's something in the back of the car..... SO NOW.... he is going to inspect the chassis... he found a couple of other things in the car.... He said let them work on it.. and then we will go from there.... Will post what they fix....
I have the same problem ............ I have a 10 / 19k and its been doing it since day 1 ....... I took it in once they said they didn't hear nothing but that was back in Oct........ I was doing some research and it's coming from the B piller which is the driver piller and has something to do with the sunroof try slamming the sunroof cover it will stop .....YES funny as it may sound it works ........... I'm going to make a appointment and tell them give me a loaner and I don't want the car back till it fixed
Well.. Here is the latest update... I took my car in.. The District Manager was involved.... They boiled it down to the acoustics of the car.... naturally after a week and a half... I picked up my car.... and GUESS WHAT? The rattle is still there.... I called the dealership and Client Services and started with them.. My car has 2300 miles on it... out of those miles... the dealer put on at least 500 of that... since day 1. I told them I am not taking the car back to fix... They need to replace it.. Every time I take my car in there is something bad that comes out of it... First time... The damaged my A/C vent... Second time... Scratched my drivers door and passenger side window tint..... This time... the scratched the trim piece below the trunk... I've had it! Will keep you posted on the out come....
I told my sales guy and the Acura Client Services representative... She told me she understands... and if my options were open... I told her NO for repair! I gave the DM a chance and he did nothing different! Problem still exist.... She is going to have a meeting with him.... will keep y'all posted!

I would park near the dealership and offer test drives to potential customers. Have they checked the welds under the rear seats? 2010's had an issue with a noise caused by metal to metal rub making a noise.
No They Haven't.... I told them to replace the car! It's been there 3 weeks total to fix that issue and not even the DM could pin point it... Imagine each time my car went in... They damaged something.. from scratching my tint, driver door, passenger door seal, window tint, dented my a/c vent and to top it off.. they removed the door panel and forgot to put window trim piece back! so over it.... Client Services was no help! now I have to work with the dealership to trade it off... totally sucks!
Join "prepaidlegal.com" (for like $26) and then have one of their lawyers send the dealership GM a threatening letter (the letter is free service as part of your $26/mo membership).
You'd be amazed how responsive people become when they get a letter from an attorney. I've done it multiple times under various situations when being nice gets you no where...it does help.

Hi,
I am new to this site. I have a 2012 TL with a similar noise coming from the center console/dashboard. I took it to the dealer twice, but somehow the technician fixed the problem. According to the repair order, it was due to a misaligned bolt and unit under dash behind glove box that was contact body causing noise in dash when acelerating or braking.
To fix this the service tech did the following:
Removed center speaker and center ac vents. test drove, noise is still there. noise is traveling to the center of the dashfrom glove box area. removed glove box and side panels. test drove, noise is still there. Loosened frome for dash on left inside. test drove, noise is still there. Removed bracket in front of airbag. test drove, noise is present. Noise is coming and traveling to center frame bar behind glove box. Removed clips and harness from metal frame bar. Removed air bag. test drove, noise is still thereRemoved all clips to side kick panel and harnesses. Pryed on sheet metal. test drove, noise is still there. Loosened unit on kick panel attached to body. Created space. Increased clearance and added a washer. test drove, noise is eliminated. Renistall all removed parts. Job took dealer 3-4 hours. Problem was resolved.
I give a lot of credit to the service technician at Sierra Acura in Alhambra. I was thing that they would not able to fix the problem, but they did. I hope this helps.

I am having the same issue! The dealer had the car five times each time they said it was fixed. The last invoice they stated that the rattle is normal with the car.My car also came back with marks and nicks! I am sorry I ever bought this car.My 2003 Acura Tl was perfect. This one has a really annoying Rattle coming from the passenger side door or glove box.
Just got back from dealer for warranty work on front passenger side door which appears to be a rattle/buzzing sound. They found that the door trim tabs were broken and replace them with part # 83542-TK4-A01ZA...so far i haven't heard the rattle/buzzing sound. Hope this will help with some of the rattling sound issues....
